First Look! General Grievous 1:1 Life Size Bust

Posted by Paul | May 07, 2009 at 09:32 PM ET

The Sideshow Collectibles General Grievous 1:1 Life Size Bust has been released and JTA is excited to provide you with a ton of photos and first impressions showcasing this magnificent collectible. This bust is nothing but extraordinary to say the very least and every detail of the Separatist general is captured in stunning authenticity and exactness. Click through for an array of pictures and thoughts about this recent acquisition.

The General Grievous life size bust is full of beautiful marbling and is etched with real nooks and grooves to create a realistic texture and surface. The marbling is probably the most impressive part of this bust. Those of you who have been lucky enough to add the Premium Format General Grievous to your collections know just how awesome this attention to detail is. Sideshow has been able to make it even more authentic here on this larger scale collectible. The eyes have been replicated perfectly and the "wet" red areas around the yellow cat-like eyeballs bring the piece to life.

The vocoder and other details of the mouth are painted beautifully and the silhouette of the head is clean and symmetrical. The organic parts of Grievous are made in different materials than the rest of the bust, lending itself towards a more biological authenticity and realism than if the same repeat materials were used and just simply repainted. The "larynx" is clear and reddish orange and looks brilliant. The head is attached with a "metal" frame and there are real tubes and coils, (looking just as if they were removed from your car and directly added to the bust), and these extras add that special touch and character to the bust.

This bust is currently in stock as of this posting for $499.99 (or 10,000 Sideshow Rewards points). This is a "deal" considering that the Yoda life size bust was $50 more. There obviously has been significantly more work and attention to detail put into Grievous when compared to Yoda and Sideshow has without a doubt raised their own bar. We can say conclusively that this bust will exceed collector expectations and you will be hard-pressed to find complaints with any aspect of it. Another great thing about Grievous is that Sideshow has returned to the heavier weight polystone, making this bust very hearty and subtstantial. The Emperor Palpatine bust was a bit of a dissapoint because of how light it was. We guarantee that this bust will be nothing but a joy to add to your collection! Pick it up today!

5 stars!!! Check out all the photos below!
