JTA Welcomes New Staff Member Andrew Cambalik!

Posted by Paul | November 26, 2016 at 06:45 PM ET

Chuck and I are THRILLED to welcome new staff member Andrew Cambalik to the team at Jedi Temple Archives. A longtime reader, Andrew officially jumps on board to help us out with the daily grind of the site. A professional graphic designer by day, Andrew has a keen eye for the art in things and it is this among his many other talents that will make him a hugely important part of our site. With an unbridled and unparalleled passion for Star Wars and Star Wars collecting, we're thankful that he is using his skills and releasing his energy here at Jedi Temple Archives. Be sure to welcome him here if you haven't already! Click through for his bio, and be sure to see a clever and succinct summary online YouTube video HERE!

Andrew is originally from California. He was born, raised and educated there. After college, he went to Oregon for a job with Adobe, then moved back to California for his first broadcasting job. He was working at different television stations throughout West Coast until recently when he left for a broadcasting (NBC) job in Minnesota where he currently resides.

Andrew remembers his very first Star Wars figures. It was Easter 1978. Instead of candy, his parents filled his basket with new “Star Wars figures”. From that point on, he was hooked. Despite his parents throwing away all his original figures and ships (as many parents did back then), as he got older he started building a large collection of Star Wars collectibles starting with Hasbro’s revamp of the series in 1995. From that point on, he collected as much of it as he could: from The Power of the Force "2" to the amazing The Vintage Collection. He also has a nice collection of Gentle Giant collectibles: busts, replicas etc. Also, he was collecting nearly every Sideshow 1:6 Scale Figure they produced, not to mention an absurd amount of trading cards. He had a vast collection of every series Topps ever released.

These days, Andrew collects from various manufactures: Hasbro for The Black Series 6” figures, NECA for his Pacific Rim addiction, and Hot Toys for The Guardians of the Galaxy.

He has been an avid reader of JTA for as long as he can remember, and he now feels privileged to be a part of it. Feel free to say “hello” to Andrew in the comments. He's known there by his alias: mintoncard.

Welcome Andrew! We're so happy you're part of the team!
