A New Hope For UK Collectors With Regards To The TVC Slave I

Posted by Paul | July 06, 2013 at 05:36 PM ET

This is an absolutely awesome report. JTA reader SarlaccSurvivor did some incredible research and came across something VERY perplexing, but hopeful with regards to the Slave I for UK readers! Click through for his report!

Hi Paul,

Just thought I'd let you and the JTA readers know a little something i found out today regarding the upcoming Vintage Collection Slave 1. Not sure if this will be news or something people already know. But hopefully what i am sending you is relevant and good for us collectors!

As you are aware the Slave 1 is an Amazon.com exclusive, predominently a US exclusive. Just thought i would let people know that there is hope for people finding it at brick and mortar!

I work at Toys'R'Us here in the UK, and while checking our stock system for new developments regarding the Black Series and Vintage exclusives, i was amazed to find a new addition. The Vintage Collection Slave 1 is now an active line on our system. Details for it are below.

SW VINTAGE SLAVE 1. HASBRO. SKN:984744. MFRN:98937. UPC/EAN:40009847442.

Price is not set yet, still listed as £999.99. So what it will cost will be pure speculation at this point. The Vintage X wing is listed at £79.99, so i'd imagine it will be between that and £99.99, as its not that much bigger. Comes 3 to a shipping box.

Now this has only appeared in the last 2 days as i check every other day. Hoping this will be good news for those wanting it but who would rather not go online for it. I know in the UK we would get stung by customs/import duty if ordering it from the US, as its happened to me before with a Sideshow order. I know i would rather see it 'in the plastic' in a store. Whether it means it will be available in all Toys'R'Us stores, Non US stores, European only, Uk only, i'm not sure. But i thought that this was some new news to share with you all! :) Sorry for ranting on. Love JTA and the work you all do to bring us the latest news and reviews on all our beloved Star Wars products :)

Kind Regards
Mark (SarlaacSurvivor)
