A Concerned Look At The Upcoming Black Series 3.75 Scaled Line

Is the Black Series line already doomed to fail? There are still no American pre-orders to be had yet and collectors are becoming increasingly anxious about the first couple of case assortments, especially the inaugural wave. In the meantime, let's take a quick look at what is coming to the newly hailed Black Series 3.75" line, the extremely disappointing replacement to The Vintage Collection. Click through for more....

With a general consensus that the first two waves of figures in this line are anything but earthshattering, we bet that had they been released in The Vintage Collection that the groans and moans so alarmingly audible over the character selections made for this line would be a lot more muted. It goes without saying that figures like Padmé Amidala (Geonosis Arena) and an updated Episode II Anakin Skywalker are something to get excited over, why did this wave need to get mixed in with three army builders like the clones and the slightly disappointing updated Biker Scout? Revised versions of Luke Skywalker (Yavin Ceremony) and Biggs Darklighter (Rebel Pilot) are long-awaited updates for the hardcore collectors, but we understand that many collectors are deflated over them taking up space in a case (and so heavily might we add).

We know that the earliest cases of Black Series will be cobbled together versions of the cancelled Droid Factory line announced figure. But maybe Hasbro should have split the cases assortments a littl bit better so that more highly sought after figures (and maybe a few surprises thrown into the cases) were added to the initial mixes instead. Here is hoping that this first case assortment doesn't become a defacto 2012 TPM case assortment and bring the line to a deadlock almost at its inception. Why oh why did TVC need to go on hiatus? Why? Why?! Why!!!!
