Research Droids Reviews: September 12, 2012 – September 25, 2012

Speeder Bike With Scout Trooper - SW [TPM 3D] - Vehicles (Exclusive)
We may just perhaps be the wrong bunch of people to review the new Toys R Us exclusive Speeder Bike With Scout Trooper. You should know right off the bat that we have given this product an almost perfect score and we think it’s truly a brilliant work of art.... (read the full review)

Darth Maul Returns - SW [TPM 3D] - Battle Packs (Exclusive)
If you didn’t think it was possible, think again. Hasbro has effortlessly combined realistic and animated into one Battle Packs set while all of the characters in it are supposed to be sourced from the same episode. You may be surprised how well this combination of figures works together!.... (read the full review)

Darth Vader - SW [SOTDS] - Saga Legends (SL06)
Saga Legends has been all over the place as far as being a line for kids and collectors. After the marvelous 2007-2008 30 (77-07) collection, it was a tough act for Hasbro to beat and quite frankly, they never did supersede their efforts from that line since.... (read the full review)

Zuckuss - SW [SOTDS] - Saga Legends (SL03)
Once bounty hunters took over the small screen in the later episodes of season 2 of The Clone Wars, Hasbro found the perfect opportunity to release some of their most popular realistically styled bounty hunter action figures into the 2010 Star Wars [Shadow Of The Dark Side] lineup.... (read the full review)

Bossk - SW [SOTDS] - Saga Legends (SL01)
The Saga Legends line took an interesting turn in direction by the time the 2010 Star Wars "Shadow Of The Dark Side" line look was released. When compared to previous Saga Legends lines, it has a very heavy concentration of bounty hunter characters in that it.... (read the full review)

Princess Leia In Boushh Disguise - SW [SOTDS] - Saga Legends (SL07)
One figure in the 2010 Star Wars “Shadow Of The Dark Side” Saga Legends line that we really weren’t incredibly eager to see repacked was Princess Leia In Boushh Disguise. The reason is it’s a figure that dates back to the very first wave of The Saga Collection line (released in December of 2005) that although it had its moments, it ultimately lacked in what collectors deem as acceptable articulation standards.... (read the full review)

Clone Commander Fox - SW [TPM 3D] - The Clone Wars (CW18)
It goes without saying that the direction of action figures based on The Clone Wars television show has become quite controversial. Ever since Hasbro announced that realistically styled action figures based on characters from The Clone Wars (which began in the 2012 phase of The Vintage Collection) would become part of the collector focused lines going forward, collectors of all ages began noticing a drastic shift in the amount of articulation Hasbro was adding to their animated action figures.... (read the full review)

Aayla Secura - SW [TPM 3D] - The Clone Wars (CW14)
Aayla Secura is a sight for sore eyes no matter when she’s released as a Star Wars collectible and it almost doesn’t matter what collectible format she comes either. But one thing is for sure and that’s Hasbro didn’t have an inkling that The Clone Wars interpretation of her would be so popular.... (read the full review)

Ewok Scouts (Special Action Figure Set) - TVC - Exclusive
Depending upon a certain point of view, the Star Wars collecting world wasn’t really a nice place to live prior to 2006. You see, Hasbro shied away from making a certain species in the Star Wars universe because they thought that they weren’t popular enough to have the support from the collecting community. They were wrong.... (read the full review)

Endor AT-ST Crew (Special Action Figure Set) - TVC - Exclusive
Collectors pretty much clamored in unison that one ball that Hasbro dropped for The Vintage Collection basic figure lineup was adding the AT-ST Driver from 2010’s SW [SOTDS] Attack On Hoth TARGET exclusive as a single carded figure.... (read the full review)

Cad Bane - SW [TPM 3D] - The Clone Wars (CW4)
Cad Bane left an indelible mark on The Clone Wars television series. He wreaked havoc on the Jedi and did his dastardly deeds whatever way was needed and often involved others to do his dirty work. He also found new clever ways to get his missions completed whether via clone trooper disguise or brazenly just appearing in his plain space pirate gear wielding his blaster pistols.... (read the full review)

Jango Fett - SW [SOTDS] - Saga Legends (SL05)
The 2010 Saga Legends line was all about bounty hunters and collectors were treated to plenty of them in this line as well as The Clone Wars and The Vintage Collection lines as well. For the most part, Hasbro dug out some of their best creations of all time to release in this “greatest hits” line of sorts and it was warmly embraced by a huge facet of the collecting community.... (read the full review)

Obi-Wan Kenobi - SW [SOTDS] - Saga Legends (SL12)
The Saga Legends line during the “Shadow Of The Dark Side” era piqued the most amount of interest in us since it was introduced in the 30 (77-07) line back in 2007. Hasbro became a little bit riskier in their character selections and released cool alien bounty hunters in addition to the bread and butter main characters they always typically release.... (read the full review)

IG-88 - SW [SOTDS] - Saga Legends (SL02)
Another phenomenal bounty hunter action figure is released for the 2010 “Shadow Of The Dark Side” Saga Legends line. This hive of scum and villainy is always a welcomed addition to any basic figure lineup and with the 30th anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back as well as a bounty hunter focus in The Clone Wars television show, expect to see plenty of them for a while now....
