TARGET SPECIAL ACTION FIGURE 3PACK PRICES CONTINUE TO CLIMB!

Hello Paul and JTA followers,

With all the talk of finding the new Target exclusive Special Action Figure Set Vintage 3pks, I thought I had better be armed with DCPIs on my trip to Target this morning. First stop the action figure aisle. Zero TVC basic figures and no sign of these new 3pks (or even a slot for them to be stocked in). So I headed for the poll price scanner to see what I could find. First the "old" DPCI -0302, 6 in the stockroom @ $24.99. Next the "new" DPCI -1172, also 6 in the stockroom. So in a polite and non-demanding demeanor, I asked the nearest associate if they would be able to bring some out. She asked me to show her the shelf tag so she could check it. My heart sank as I thought of those reports of refusal to bring out product that didn't have a designated home. We walked over to the Star Wars section and found what used to be SW Transformers pegs that were now empty and unmarked. She took the DPCI that I had written down [new -1172] and verified there were more in the back and had someone bring them out. Hooray!! It was the new Snaggs and Power Droid sets. I calmly snatched up two of each! To my dismay, at checkout, I discovered that Target is indeed on to us. Not only had they already taken these off clearance, they have also reassigned them to the newer DPCI. The case pack clearly shows the old number, but when the individual items [from inside it] are scanned, they come up under the new number, which is now a WHOPPING $26.99!!
