Just like they were when you were a kid, only BIGGER! Gentle Giant is proud to debut their new line of vintage Star Wars Action figure reproductions with the release of this classic Star Wars Han Solo.

Digitally scanned from mint 3 ¾" Kenner originals and reproduced to a substantial 12" tall. Nothing has been overlooked. Injection molded and made of durable plastics, this jumbo figure includes a faithfully reproduced blaster and is fully articulated! That's not all, this classic Kenner creation comes packaged on a 1978, Star Wars inspired blister card with a plastic outer clam shell to help protect and display this limited edition convention exclusive!

Alas! Another 12” Jumbo Vintage Kenner figure sees release! In a very interesting move, Gentle Giant Ltd.. decided to go with a variant and has made it easy for Premier Guild Members to attain and made it part one of their online exclusives for them. Released one per case, the “small head” Han Solo Jumbo Vintage Kenner figure will be one of the most sought after figures in this line. In an incredible one-sixth scale, collectors can now witness all of the details (including imperfections) that were all present on that cherished figure from long ago in 1978. Han Solo may not be for the casual collector, but Gentle Giant Ltd.. is no doubt knocking on the hearts of collectors of all things vintage and the line couldn’t come at a more perfect time to run in conjunction with Hasbro’s own The Vintage Collection.

Han Solo looks exactly like a large version of the Kenner figure. While this assertion may not sound too intelligent, we think it’s important to note whether or not Gentle Giant nailed the proportions and likeness well enough. And they did. The colors are perfect and the expression on the face mimics the 3.75” figure like a dead ringer. The paint job is neat and simple and the white shirt underneath his black vest is bright and clean. The red blood stripe running up the sides of his legs are also present and help remind old time collectors of those special play time from another era. Han Solo’s right hand is cupped to hold the included blaster pistol and his left hand is straight with palm outstretched like he is saluting something.

The Jumbo Vintage Kenner Figures line is awesome, but we wonder how many collectors will find this worthwhile. Just like the original 1978 figure, the right leg is shorter than the left left and at a larger scale this is more pronounced. And it affects the way the 12” figure stands terribly. He looks like the "Leaning Tower of Pisa.” Perhaps Gentle Giant Ltd.. may be better off to “perfect” the imperfections of the vintage figures in this new and exciting line. And while likely many of you won’t agree with this sentiment, we would even like to see Gentle Giant get creative and fix the incorrect paint job applications to make the old sculpt as authentic to the film as possible. Of course, a figure like Walrus Man will never be authentic no matter how it’s painted. But Han Solo (small head) is so nostalgic, it’s really hard to find fault.
