Collectors of one-sixth scale figures can rejoice because Medicom Toy has created an unbelievable one-sixth Jango Fett (as he appeared on Kamino with the missile-firing backpack). Mandalorians are always popular and it isn’t too often that they are manuafactured well in toy form. That is a thing of the past because we have the opportunity to purchase an incredible one-sixth version of Jango Fett. This is an excellent figure and it’s quite a pleasure to see how Medicom has recreated some of the materials from the original costume into this one-sixth scale figure. Ranking second to Boba Fett, Jango Fett overall just doesn’t garner enough respect from Star Wars enthusiasts. Although we and most collectors will always tend to prefer Boba to his father, fans should take a few moments to appreciate just how cool Jango Fett actually is. And you will be able to appreciate what may just be the best collectible representation of him in the Medicom Toy Real Action Heroes line. From another incredible likeness of Temuera Morrison (something Medicom is known for is their incredible capturing of awesome likenesses) to a costume that leaves no detail untouched, the Medicom Jango Fett is definitely the premier Jango Fett collectible available on the market today.

The portrait of Jango Fett is excellent. The helmet fits over his head quite well and hides nearly all of Jango’s head. Pretty much all-new parts have been created to make Jango’s armor. The gauntlets, body plating and belt are expertly crafted and look absolutely amazing on this figure. His parts are in good proportion to the rest of his body save for one area. We think the hands look slightly too small. This has been a common issue with any figure wearing gloved hands. Medicom Toy seems to do well with bare hands, but if they are gloved or covered, they tend to look too small. Despite this, the figure still looks fantastic. The figure is beautifully colored. His blue jumpsuit looks to be quite accurate to what we see in Episode II (although we’re convinced that a little more purple may be in the blue we see) and the silver body armor is shiny, yet also dull in spots to reflect various wear and tear it has experienced. The armor complements his silver boots nicely and his Westar pistols couldn’t look cooler in their holsters. Jango Fett stands with a cocky and overly confident stature and we love this about the figure. It’s exactly how this one-sixth scale figure should look in our opinion.

One thing about Medicom Toy products is their incredible paint jobs. They can paint a line as thin as a hair with amazing precision and keep it clean and even. There are two lines like this that wrap around Jango’s helmet and it almost makes us shake our heads in disbelief of how good it came out. There are of course many other small details to appreciate here. You can find real tubing coming from his gauntlet that tucks under a pocket in his jumpsuit which breathes a high level of authenticity into this figure. And the tiny armor pieces that wrap around his blue jumpsuit tie the figure all together and they help to create different drapes in the fabric exactly like the costume in the film. This is an impressive figure. We have said it earlier, we are saying it again. We are however somewhat stuck on the price of the figure $149.99 isn’t the end of the world for a figure of this quality. But we wonder how competitive it is now that Sideshow Collectibles has broken out in their armored figures. It will be interesting to see what Medicom Toy will decide to produce in the future. (And it will be interesting to see when Sideshow Collectibles will produce their own Mandalorians.) But whatever happens, Jango Fett will remain a fine figure and age gracefully because he is pure excellence.
