Well, it seems that after every Disney Star Wars Entertainment film, Hasbro produces a media-related multipack in support of the films’ releases on Blu-ray and other digital formats. The latest set focuses on Solo: A Star Wars Story. The film was a commercial failure, sadly, but this hasn’t stopped Hasbro from moving forward with their line of toys to support the movie. In typical fashion, the multipack includes four figures. One is old, and the rest are all-new which is a very generous move on Hasbro’s part. Part of the Force Link 2.0 line, the figures will talk and interact with you if you’re successful in downloading the application required on a smart device. The packaging is nearly identical to past sets. The four figures are arranged similarly and a collage of the characters features in the multipack are prominently featured on the packaging front. The bios on the back don’t go into much detail, but there is enough text to help explain each character’s role in the film. Let’s run through what’s included here.

Han Solo (Vandor-1) and Qi’ra (Vandor-1) offer collectors two more of these character’s most popular outfits from Solo: A Star Wars Story. Han Solo (Vandor-1) is particularly well made. Hasbro utilized lots of textures to bring his fur coat to life. His goggles are separately molded but aren’t removable here. We’re disappointed to report that they’re not painted that nicely. Cleaner paint applications would have been very appreciated here. The rest of the figure looks great. He comes with a functioning holster and blaster pistol. Hasbro also gave him two swivel wrists, and this extra articulation is appreciated. Qi’ra (Vandor-1) has a very nice sculpt and paint job too. Unfortunately, our sample came with uneven legs, and she leans to the side. We’re not sure if this innate to our sample, or across all samples thanks to the tooling. We wish Hasbro would have tweaked the sculpt a bit more if this is a widespread issue. Her facial paint operations are quite nice and look like the onscreen actress very much. She comes with a blaster pistol and a functioning holster as well.

Hasbro decided to add another Range Trooper in this set. It’s the same figure as the basic release, but you will find some slight paint operation variances between the two samples. It’s just something that happens when a figure is produced at two different times. Different shades of color and a slightly different application exists because of this. The figure fits well in this set. And it’s an easy way to get another army builder into your collection. The final new figure included here is Weazel. And in case you didn’t know, this is the character portrayed by Warrick Davis in Solo: A Star Wars Story. The figure is pretty nice. His helmet is reminiscent of a Cloud Car Pilot’s helmet. But the rest of him has a mix of Enfys Nest and any alien from Chalmun’s Cantina. He is simply articulated but comes with two weapons. He has a Zutton/Snaggletooth vibe to him, but he also looks unique which is a great mix for a Star Wars character. The Mission On Vandor-1 set isn’t a bargain by any means, but with everything rising in cost, we’re thankful it’s not more expensive than it already is. We’d rank this set about as average as things from Hasbro come.
