Jango Fett fights the Jedi on the planet Geonosis. This ruthless Mandalorian warrior and resourceful bounty hunter uses his superior combat skills against the Jedi and Clone Troopers as a full-scale battle erupts in the Geonosian arena.

Interestingly, they have chosen characters which do nicely complement the main characters in Rebels, so everything seems to be working as planned and scheduled. Perhaps the main reason for bringing Jango Fett into the single-carded Saga Legends line for the first time is because Sabine will soon be part of the line as well. Hasbro likes adding similar characters into the lineup to make it feel fuller. Whether you like the five points of articulation or not, admittedly they have a retro feel to them and for that we have to give kudos to Hasbro. Still for us, it doesn’t mean that we’re jumping fully on board with Hasbro here. Despite our resistance, we have enough courage to state that Jango Fett is a very nice action figure. We think that his head sculpt (helmet sculpt) is off, but the rest of him is extremely well done and despite the minimal articulation we expect many collectors will see that this is not an action figure to completely dismiss. This all-new sculpt of Jango Fett is enchanting at worst. In fact, the new version of Jango Fett, at least for us, is a bit infectious. If you read our works here often, you know that we love the characters/toys of Episode II, but dislike the film. This Jango Fett figure is another perfect example of that. He looks great!

Please don’t confuse our joy for this figure as an all-new sculpt. This particular Jango Fett has been available for a while now. He was the saving grace of the Mission Series set he was part of in 2013 and he more than holds his own as a single basic figure finally. IN fact, we’d say that this figure has a chance at greater success as a Saga Legends figure instead of a Mission Series figure. (Who needed another one of those stupid antiquated Battle Droids again anyway?) Needless to say, we’re quite taken with this figure and you might be too if you can overlook the revised “lack of articulation” approach taken with him. Even though he is just a repack we must concede that he is welcomed once again at retail, especially as a basic figure. He isn’t “competing” with anyone in the packaging. Although we’re fond of him, Jango Fett is not without fault however. We’re being picky here, but his helmet is too rounded in its appearance in our opinion. The slight “chubbiness” we’re seeing stems from a more obtuse helmet and widened chest armor. Look at our photo gallery and there is a comparison picture of 2009’s TLC Jango Fett (BD 51) figure next to him. You’ll see the differences right away. He just seem broader generally speaking.

Hasbro became a little more generous with the accessories here. Although not a rule, the trend has historically been that only one accessory would come with each Saga Legends and/or Mission Series figure (and some figures even come with none). But Jango Fett comes with three: a removable Geonosis jetpack and two Westar-34 blaster pistols.) What’s even better is that both guns fit into his hands perfectly. You obviously cannot control the angle that they’re place at but at least he can hold up both in a firing motion. And he looks even better when fully outfitted with his three accessories. With the other figures in the Saga Legends and Mission Series ranges, Jango Fett fits in quite nicely. Hasbro will need to produce a few more characters from Episode II before we feel that the film has been adequately covered in the reduced articulation format. Well painted, well sculpted and well accessorized is how we would describe the Rebels version of Jango Fett. For us, he is an absolute must-have purchase for your collection. He is a figure that you’ll just have to overlook some of the less significant faults about because he is just that good. We’re interested in seeing where Hasbro heads next with Attack Of The Clones based characters.
