Boba Fett is the most notorious bounty hunter in the entire galaxy. And Gentle Giant Ltd. made the most notorious collectible interpretation of him in their popular Mini Bust line. Gentle Giant’s direction for the Mini Bust line was a little unclear right from the beginning. Because only characters from Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones were announced in their earliest plans, fans of the Original Trilogy began pining for characters like Darth Vader and Boba Fett to get made. We got anxious a bit too early because Boba Fett was on the top of Gentle Giant’s list for their sophomore year in the Mini Busts line. Boba Fett is excellence in polystone. The piece is exquisite and follows in the same pattern as 2002’s Yoda, the very first Mini Bust with arms. Adding arms in unconventional for any bust, but we feel the inclusion of them makes the Gentle Giant Ltd. Mini Bust particularly unique. Some collectors don’t like seeing Star Wars characters cut at the waist, but that’s what a Mini Bust is. And we think they are affordable high-end collectibles that give collectors the perfect dose of elevated Star Wars goodness.

Well, where should we begin describing Boba Fett’s magnificence? The Boba Fett Mini Bust is pure perfection. We absolutely love the pose. Boba Fett couldn’t look cockier or more intimidating. The way he is holding up his blaster rifle is both threatening and cooler than James Dean. His head is ever so slightly lowered and angled, yet you can get a great eye to visor lock at him when gazing at him. Most of his left arm is hidden by his cape, which itself is another work of sculpted art. It’s truly incredible how much detail the artisans at Gentle Giant Ltd. have carved into this piece. It’s literally jaw-dropping. Perhaps the only thing that can outdo the sculpting are the hand-painted details. Boba Fett has a totally gorgeous paint job. The thing about hand-painted pieces is that they will have small variances from one piece to the next. But no matter the specifics on how yours is painted, you can rest assured that you will be getting a tremendously decorated piece. The color palette used seems endless. On top of the bright colors used to decorate his armor and the most realistic scratches, smudges and general dirt accumulations that have covered his exterior. It’s brilliant to say the least.

Boba Fett also has some soft-goods attached to him. The Wookiee braids are made from real fibers and look fantastic hanging from his shoulders. And let’s not forget about his jetpack attached. Although a Mini Bust, Gentle Giant Ltd. has added the entire jetpack to his back for you to enjoy. It has also been painted very nicely and is in complete proportion to the rest of Boba Fett. Again, this is an impressive collectible. If we had to find room for some sort of fault, we would have to say that we wish his left hand (holding the blaster rifle) attached itself to the wrist much more tightly than it does. Still, that is very nitpicky and almost not even worth mentioning because it’s insignificant when considering how beautiful the rest of the Mini Bust is. Limited to 7500 pieces, Boba Fett is one of the higher-produced edition sizes of all the Mini Busts. But don’t think that a larger edition size means he will be easy to acquire. Boba Fett is one of the most popular characters in the entire Star Wars universe and we would wager to guess that Gentle Giant would be able to sell an edition size double the amount of what has been made because of his popularity. Find the Boba Fett Mini Bust and buy it because it’s essential.
