The commanding officer of the 612th Attack Battalion, Clone Commander Ganch is a no-nonsense, by-the-manual soldier who devotes all his energies to following orders to-the-letter. His hardened attitude comes from witnessing what can go wrong when troops lack discipline. A botched mission early in the Clone Wars left Ganch the sole survivor of Skua Squad.

Ganch was assigned to Jedi General Bolla Ropal at the Eedit Temple on Devaron, but after Ropal was kidnapped and killed by Cad Bane, Ropals forces were transferred to the command of Keelyvine Reus. Ganch respects Reus's Padawan, Tyzen Xebec, and offers the young man advice when requested, though Ganch considers the teen Zabrak his superior.

Man, there are certainly some choices for exclusives that are major head-scratchers, aren’t there? Commander Ganch (612th Attack Battalion) (CC-4572)probably tops them all as one of the most obscure choices Sideshow Collectibles could have ever picked to release in their 1:6 Scale Figures line, a line that they have blatantly been amortizing since its inception with the armored figures specifically. Commander Ganch must have won its spot in this line by luck of the draw or roll of the dice, because he only appears in two webcomics, albeit for a generous amount of the story. We wouldn’t be surprised if someone at Sideshow Collectibles was blindfolded and asked to pick a random picture from a lineup either. That being said, Commander Ganch (612th Attack Battalion) is indeed a cool figure in the Militaries Of Star Wars line nonetheless, although it’s very hard to call him a necessary or required release. He’s really just more of the same, so will his bright colors save him from certain doom as many will decidedly pass on this very obscure character from The Clone Wars webcomic?

Sideshow Collectibles has, like they’ve done whenever possible in the past, included all three phases of Commander Ganch for this Celebration VI exclusive. His human portrait, phase I helmet and phase II helmet are some of the best decorated head attachments this line has ever seen. In particular, Sideshow has done the most impressive work on Ganch’s head sculpt. They’ve added some extra paint operations that in the past have been excluded and it has done wonders for making one of the most authentic clone head sculpts our eyes have ever seen. Commander Ganch’s human head sculpt may at first seem to be donning too much mascara or eye shadow, but admittedly it does wonders for breathing life into an already phenomenal facial sculpture. Once again this proves just how vital an exquisite paint job is to bring the most out of a well designed sculpt. His head is unique to the other clones we’ve seen released in the past as he has red hash marks on both sides of his head. The details on the helmets are equally impressive as they’re colorful and show signs of intense wear from the battles witnessed in The Clone Wars.

As is usual for the armored 1:6 Scaled Figures line, Commander Ganch (612th Attack Battalion) comes with too many hand attachments. We really hope that Sideshow Collectibles curbs how many unique hand attachments they include in future figures. It’s much too overwhelming at this point. Better represented here are his weapons which include a DC-15 blaster, a DC-15 blaster rifle, and two DC-17 blaster pistols that hit nicely in two holsters that hang from a bandolier in the center of his chest. Sideshow Collectibles has added appropriate hand attachments that allow the figure too hold these weapons perfectly. (See, that’s all we need our 1:6 Scale Figures to be supplied with – anymore is way too much!) Commander Ganch (612th Attack Battalion) is definitely a colorful figure. The armor color flashes border on fuchsia pink. This neon-like paint is certainly interesting, but we don’t think it’s an exact match to what was represented in the short-lived webcomic. Commander Ganch is really just more of the same. We think he’s a bad choice for a Celebration VI exclusive. That doesn’t mean we don’t like him. But Sideshow Collectibles needs to find a better representative that is a better fit for a convention exclusive.
