Princess Leia disguises herself as a bounty hunter named Boushh. Her ruse is part of an elaborate plan to rescue Han Solo from Jabb the Hutt. The crime lord is displaying the carbonite-frozen body of Solo in his palace on Tatooine. The rescue is successful, and she releases Han from his frozen state.

One figure in the 2010 Star Wars “Shadow Of The Dark Side” Saga Legends line that we really weren’t incredibly eager to see repacked was Princess Leia In Boushh Disguise. The reason is it’s a figure that dates back to the very first wave of The Saga Collection line (released in December of 2005) that although it had its moments, it ultimately lacked in what collectors deem as acceptable articulation standards. That being said however, we’re glad that Hasbro released the figure for a second time in the manner that they did (whether it was intentional or not). A few enhancements have made this figure better than its original release back in 2005. While the articulation only hurts us more as a 2010 release than it did when it was a 2005/2006 release, you might be able to find solace in what Hasbro did to make the figure a bit more palatable for the Saga Legends line. It goes without saying that an all-new Princess Leia (Boushh Disguise) figure is desperately needed in the modern line and we will hold onto that desire until it happens. But take a look at how the Saga Legends figure should make your collection a little bit sweeter. So simply put, this figure is a slight repaint og 2005's TSC Princess Leia (Boushh Disguise) (SAGA 001) figure.

Princess Leia In Boushh Disguise comes with a few, albeit not too significant, changes. First and foremost you’ll notice that Hasbro has cast her blaster staff in a darker metallic plastic. The 2005 The Saga Collection version looks almost bronze by comparison. It’s odd why Hasbro would choose a different mix of colors to cast this accessory. On an interesting note, the thermal detonator remains the same color as the original release. The best part? WHile you do see some curvature of the accessory in our photo gallery, Hasbro utilized a stiffer plastic and it holds its shape much, much better. It could have been stronger, but it's not half bad. Hasbro has also slightly lightened and dulled her legs to better match her arms. Oh, and that reminds us, her arms are painted in a different color than The Saga Collection release. Her bandolier uses different coloring and her mask (the tan parts) is much shinier looking. The silver paint on her mouthpiece has been cleaned up beautifully and there are some wash differences in the helmet. (It’s not as sloppily applied and more even now.) Princess Leia In Boushh Disguise has another very noticeable enhancement. Hasbro has darkened her hair quite a bit, they’ve removed the highlights from the top od her head and her ponytail now has blatant ties wrapped throughout it that just weren’t visible on The Saga Collection version. See our photo gallery for the comparison detail.

But perhaps the most noticeable change which isn’t exclusive top our sample is that her stance has been widened and gives her a much improved stature. She’s sustained a repositioning of sorts in her stance. Her legs are wider and more flush with the ground. What’s great about this is that getting her to stand unaided is significantly easier with the 2010 Saga Legends release. (We own three of the TSC figure and all three have bowed in legs and always fall backwards to the ground and they are all very difficult to position upright without the use of an action figure stand.) Our The Saga Collection Princess Leia (Boushh Disguise) figures have legs that are bowed and angled. She looks so much better now. Believe it or not, all of these changes make this the definitive Princess Leia (Boushh Disguise) figure for your collection (for right now). Obviously this doesn’t mean that we are in desperate need for an all-new sculpt because we are. Hopefully Hasbro has her in their parking lot and that she will see imminent release before we know it. While we wait, she how well this figure can serve as placeholder until that dream figure becomes reality. It won’t be long. And least we hope not.
