Bail Organa, a senator from Alderaan, sees how the Republic is being ruined. When the situation becomes even more treacherous for loyal members of the Republic, he lends his support in the fight to save the galaxy.

Some Star Wars characters in the Prequel Trilogy are instantly likeable due to the relationship they have with characters in the Original Trilogy. Father Organa, much better known as Bail Organa in the films, is the adoptive patriarch of Leia who took her into his care in order to protect from her birth father, the newly ordained Darth Vader. Bail Organa, played by famous and also likeable actor Jimmy Smits was one of the most perfectly casted characters in Episode II and Episode III. A wonderful actor, Mr. Smits was able to achieve and warm yet commanding presence as someone who was growing exponentially disheartened with the power being given to Chancellor Palpatine as his freedom was dying away with each clap in a sea of thunderous applause. Having a much more important role in Episode III than he did in Episode II, Bail Organa was on the top of Hasbro’s parking lot list and he was part of the first batch of over two dozen figures that were available on opening street date day in April 2005 in preparation for the final Star Wars film ever: Revenge Of The Sith.

Bail Organa is a very nicely made action figure. He wore multiple outfits in Episode III, but this one is based on the one he appeared in for most of the film’s duration. Bail Organa is proportionately taller than the rest of the figures in the line and Hasbro did the face sculpt justice. This definitely looks a lot like Jimmy Smits. A nice mix of ball-jointed articulation was included, but those darn swivel elbows has reared its ugly head again and that’s what Hasbro decided to include for Bail Organa too. He comes without ball-jointed ankles. This is a bit sad because he has a rather terrible center of gravity, all thanks to one foot being longer than the other. And had Hasbro included ball-jointed ankles, it would have been a tremendous fix for that issue. But it seems that where Hasbro may have goofed, they’ve made up for it somewhere else. For example, Bail Organa comes with a plastic molded cloak that wraps around his body. Thanks to the ball-socket head, you can pop it off very easily and remove his cloak for some versatility. And we actually prefer Bail not wearing his cloak because we are fans of soft-goods very much.

Bail also comes with a blaster pistol which can be neatly tucked away in his functioning holster. And lastly, he comes with an environmental display stand which we are certain was meant to reproduce a very tiny are inside the Tantive IV. Color us impressed Hasbro! Overall, the details in Bail’s outfit are excellent and Hasbro seemingly included details that perhaps a large chunk of the collecting community will miss altogether if they don’t open their action figures. (It’s so wonderful being an opener isn’t it folks?!) As good of a figure Bail Organa is, we have to say that the dark paint lines are a bit blurry and not evenly applied. This adversely affects his hairline and eye application unfortunately. But, we bet you’ll be so impressed with the likeness that you’ll be able to forgive it too. We’d still like to see Hasbro go back to the drawing board again with this figure and give it super-articulation, soft-goods and a stellar paint job. Then and only then will we be satiated for us wanting the definitive Episode III Bail Organa action figure.
