Ki-Adi-Mundi is a member of the Jedi Council and a Republic General in the Clone Wars. Trained in the Jedi arts by Master Yoda himself, Ki-Adi-Mundi leads clone troopers against Separatist forces on the planet Mygeeto.
Is there another Jedi from the Prequel Trilogy that was more noble than Master Ki-Adi-Mundi? He’s a Jedi character that exemplifies mental shrewdness, physically agility and a seemingly gifted Master of the Force. In comparison, even other seasoned Jedi don’t see to match equally with him in these regards. But then again, that’s just our assessment. We’re sure other collectors feel similarly about their favorite Jedi as well. A fierce and brave warrior, a venerable confidant and an esteemed member of the Jedi Order (and its High Council), Ki-Adi-Mundi is one Star Wars character that almost instantly struck a loud chord with fans everywhere. Between his looks (features) and his collected demeanor (he’s a man of few words in the films), Ki-Adi-Mundi is a Star Wars character that has become a staple in the basic figure line since 1999. We’re glad Hasbro keeps fining spots in the basic figure lines to continually get him out to us. His uniquely shaped and large cranium and his empathetic eyes make for a striking appearance. His appearance is like no other, especially his contemporaries. And Hasbro successfully transferred a lot of these traits he has to the action figure. They masterfully replicated his costume from Revenge Of The Sith. You’ll discover that there is a great mix of soft-goods and plastic molded parts to his outfit. He’s lightly accessorized as well.
Ki-Adi-Mundi is a Collection 2 figure from the Revenge Of The Sith line and this means that he comes with an environmental base (there are exceptions to this Collection 2 rule). Sadly, Ki-Adi-Mundi was on the icy planet of Mygeeto when he was executed when the clandestine Order 66 went into effect, so it would have been wonderful to get his pack-in stand that looked more like this planet. (Hey, Hasbro repainted the “Mustafar” base exclusively for the Polis Massan, so they can the same for a main Jedi character like Ki-Adi-Mundi.) Hasbro has shown his action figure representation incredible respect this time and you’ll find that the Revenge Of The Sith line brings us an all-new and not too distant from definitive status of Ki-Adi-Mundi in 3.75” scale. Ki-Adi-Mundi comes with a healthy 12 points of articulation. We’re of course sad to see the omission of ball-jointed ankles for this very active and agile Jedi Master, but we’re honestly more bothered by his swivel elbows. We’ve stated for years in this column that swivel elbow joints are the enemy. Some disagree, but we’d like to see ball-jointed shoulders on arms with no other articulation worked into it. Swivel joints are aesthetically ugly, not too functional because they limit the natural humanoid movement and cumbersome to pose because they easily pop out without too much force sometimes.
