S.H. Figuarts is a new standard figure series that incorporates the Bandai action figure "Art" under the theme "Pursuing Character Expression through Humanoid Action."

Wow. It goes without saying that the S.H. Figuarts line of high-end 6” collectibles is stunning. While the line may not be entirely perfect yet, it is easy to assess that they’re able to make some of the finest human likenesses possible for this scale of figures. One of their standout pieces is the online exclusive Anakin Skywalker (Attack Of The Clones) figure. What’s makes this online exclusive figure “extra” exclusive is the addition of extra parts, but only for pre-orders. If you placed a pre-order by the deadline date, you were guaranteed to get a version of this figure which included an extra “action-oriented” portrait in addition to a generic blue lightsaber and a generic green lightsaber; the ones he utilized during the Battle of Geonosis. Obviously, you’ll want to secure the version of the figure that comes with the most accessories because they’re so important to this figure. It isn’t often that you get three lightsabers with a Jedi action figure, but here you do, and they’re all screen-accurate and relevant. Anakin Skywalker (Attack Of The Clones) brings to the table beauty, grace and action. With an impressive articulation system and the ability to achieve incredible poses, Anakin Skywalker (Attack Of The Clones) is destined to be a favorite release for S.H. Figuarts collectors.

We’re completely taken aback by Anakin Skywalker (Attack Of The Clones)’s portraits. With “photorealistic” technology in place, they’re able to create likenesses that look exactly like the onscreen character. Both portraits on this figure are amazing. One is smiling and the other looks like he is engaged in battle. The color of the hair looks a tad too light, but the application of the paint is beautiful, and the texture of the hair has been given a wash to make it as realistic as possible. If you look very closely at the paint operations on the face, you’ll be impressed to see how much detail was brought out in the sculpt. From the “eyeliner” to the “shadowing” on the cheeks, a great deal was considered on the best way to give this figure deco. We’re impressed with the results. Anakin Skywalker (Attack Of The Clones) not only has a great likeness and beautiful paint operations, but he also has a fantastic sculpt. Anakin Skywalker from Episode II has always been our most favorite version of him (we love the costume), but it goes without saying that this action figure has been sculpted with incredible accuracy and completely mirrors the onscreen character. The coloring and textures are all correct and perfectly in place. Plus, the design of the figure has been orchestrated beautifully to allow for maximum movement.

We do have a complaint however. The sleeves on this figure inhibit the access to the wrist ball-joints. So, changing hand attachments is not an easy task, especially for collectors with larger fingers. In fact, for us, it is one of the most aggravating things we have had to do in a while. It’s not impossible, but you might risk losing your patience as it takes much too long to accomplish this. Other than this setback, Anakin Skywalker (Attack Of The Clones) brings everything to the table we would expect him to bring. Once you get the lightsaber holding hands installed, you can create some pretty magnificent poses with this figure. There is something extra special about a figure wielding two lightsabers. We didn’t see it enough in the Star Wars films, so being able to replicate it in a collectible line is especially rewarding. After this figure’s pre-order ended, collectors were still able to purchase this figure (still exclusively) online, but this time the extra parts were not included. In all honesty, the figure feel incomplete if you don’t get the bonus parts. There is no other way to state this. Anakin Skywalker (Attack Of The Clones) is a highlight of S.H. Figuarts characters based on Attack Of The Clones. Hopefully, everyone will be able to enjoy this figure at some point. But we hope they issue more characters from the film soon!
