Luke Skywalker, a young farmboy on Tatooine, is thrust into the struggle of the Rebel Alliance when he meets Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has lived for years in seclusion on the desert planet. Obi-Wan begins Luke's Jedi training as Luke joins him on a daring mission to rescue the beautiful Rebel leader Princess Leia from the clutches of the evil Empire. Although Obi-Wan sacrifices himself in a lightsaber duel with Darth Vader, his former apprentice, Luke proves that the Force is with him by destroying the Empire's Death Star.

Yikes! Why is Hasbro digging out their inferior The Power Of The Force "2" [Freeze Frame/The Kenner Collection] tooling from their archives to release figures in 2002? This decision is the case for the Death Star Accessory Set (With Death Star Trooper And Droids), a Target exclusive, and features the 1998 POTF2 "Freeze Frame" Death Star Trooper as the featured figure for this multipack. While the other Accessory Sets in this exclusive sub-line strike us as exciting additions to our collections, the Death Star Accessory Set (With Death Star Trooper And Droids) exclusive is primarily annoying. All is not lost, however. There is some newness in this set, but seeing a figure from 1998 in the mix is hardly something to get excited about, as Hasbro could have updated this character before re-releasing it. The included Death Star Trooper is a repaint of the original 1998 figure, but the differences are minimal, and most collectors may not be remotely interested in the slight changes. The Death Star Trooper comes pre-posed and doesn't offer much to collectors, so it will have to be the other accessories here that serve as this exclusive's saving grace. Otherwise, collectors may have no interest in it at all.

Once again, Death Star Trooper is a slight repaint of 1998's POTF2 [FF/TKC] Death Star Trooper figure. It comes with six articulation points: a swivel head, two swivel shoulders, a swivel waist, and two swivel hips. The figure's proportions are too bulky, and the stance Hasbro chose for it is perplexing. The helmet is removable, and the figure comes with plenty of other accessories besides the two droids. Also included here are a rifle rack, heavy blaster rifle, two E-11 blaster rifles, DLT-19 heavy blaster rifle, stormtrooper helmet, and a stormtrooper belt with holster. Both of the droids are all-new sculpts. Sadly, the Mouse Droid is too large but has a neat reverse wind-up action feature. We're not entirely sure why Hasbro made it so large, other than to accommodate this new feature. Coincidentally, the Interrogator Droid went in the other direction, and Hasbro made it larger. It's now appropriately sized, especially when compared to the one from 1999's POTF2 [FB/CT] Darth Vader (With Imperial Interrogator Droid) figure. Ultimately, it has more detail, but it feels clunkier than the original release. We’re not sure if it’s better ot not.

We're perhaps most impressed with the all-new Stormtrooper belt. It's a lovely design, interacts well with the various action figures, and is proportional to the on-screen prop. It is a little bit difficult to secure it onto an action figure, but it will stay if you make an effort to place it on the figure. It has a functioning holster to hold a Stormtrooper blaster, and it has all of the features a Stormtrooper needs to battle the Rebel Alliance. It will look great on any Luke Skywalker or Han Solo figure already released or coming in the future. They've done it that well. The Death Star Accessory Set (With Death Star Trooper And Droids) exclusive set is a tough multipack to rate. It feels like it has more wasted opportunity than relevance to the current basic figure line. The contents don't meet our expectations. And we would have preferred if Hasbro refreshed the Death Star Trooper to modernize it. It's exaggerated pose is terrible. We didn't see ANY of these characters running this aggressively in any of the Star Wars films. Anyway, there are some excellent pieces and parts here, but overall it doesn't grab us like others in this series.
