Celebrate the legendary Star Wars saga that changed the universe forever! This collection brings to life the incredible story of good versus evil that captured our imagination and took us to a galaxy far, far away. Iconic Star Wars heroes and villains are captured with incredible detail and premium features to commemorate each epic tale in the Star Wars saga. May the Force be with you!

Hasbro is quite adept at torturing collectors by making us wait seemingly endlessly for figures we really want. This isn't the nicest way to treat those who help your bottom line, but we all know it isn't intentional. Besides, waiting for something that long allows technology and quality to bring us better action figures. This of course is a good thing. Bom Vimdin (Cantina Patron) has been a candidate in the Fans’ Choice polls that started back in the middle of 2000. Eleven years later, we finally get him for the first time as a strikingly perfect basic figure. Hasbro more than made up for the wait because Bom Vimdin is super-articulated, beautifully sculpted and expertly painted, and easily one of the best Cantina aliens they have ever produced. Before his release, there are a total of four figures from those now age-old Fans’ Choice polls that have yet to be made. Bom Vimdin happily leaves the company of fellow candidates: the Twi’lek Masseuses, Nym, and Ben Quadrinaros (which rumor has should be coming shortly in The Vintage Collection too). We’re not sure why Hasbro kept dillydallying with this figure, but as we have just said, Bom Vimdin has certainly been worth the wait. From the studs on his vest to the old world character found in the richness of his outfit, Bom Vimdin will delight collectors of all ages, but hold a very special place for collectors who grew up seeing the original Star Wars films in the movie theaters and wanted this character as an action figure for years.

Bom Vimdin (Cantina Patron) is loaded with high quality super-articulation. He comes with all of the expected ball-joints as well as the obligatory swivel wrists, waist and hips. You will have fun placing him in a variety of poses, but you'll probably enjoy looking at him from head to toe that much more. Surprising to us, he is taller than we expected. For some reason (for years) we thought he was of a significantly shorter stature, like something closer to that of Takeel, but obviously we are wrong. And what’s weird is that even though we expected him to be taller, he doesn’t look the slightest bit too tall. This is due directly to how exceptionally well he has been sculpted. We cannot rave enough about this. This is action figure making at its best and Bom Vimdin is certainly a success in sculpting alone. And you know we're going to say it, but the sculpting is only outdone by the glorious paint job, especially on his head. His sleeves are full of natural bunching up and wrinkling from normal wear and his pants bunch up right above his boots. And his boots have wonderful double straps around them which make it very familiar to the boots seen in various western films. He comes wearing gray gloves. This is a detail none of us most likely would have seen in Episode IV, but it’s nice to know that Hasbro has the appropriate reference materials to ensure the figure’s accuracy. And if they are wrong, we'll never know the difference.

While Bom Vimdin (or a close relative of him) can be clearly seen in The Star Wars Holiday Special, many have questioned if he even appears in the Cantina sequence in A New Hope. He does. In the very opening sequence when we see Hem Dazon’s head pop up, Bom Vimdin is the slightly blurry character in the right background of this scene. You can even see his studded vest if you look hard enough for it. Obviously most of the other details can't be clearly seen in this frame, but thankfully there are some great stills that can be viewed to confirm what a great job Hasbro did on this action figure. Hasbro has sculpted a pliable (and removable) holster and while we won’t spend the time (or take the risk of breaking it) trying to remove this accessory, we think it’s pretty awesome that Hasbro has added this detail to Bom Vimdin. Little things like this add so much more to an action figure. On top of the removable holster, he also comes with a strapped rifle and smaller blaster pistol. And what Cantina alien would be complete without a bar glass? Bom Vimdin comes with an all-new sculpted glass and it suits him well. Bom Vimdin may not have the popularity of his wave mates in wave 7 of The Vintage Collection, but we hope he will be appealing to the masses. We have waited a long time for this action figure and we think Hasbro did him justice in every way.
