Kit Fisto - TVC - Basic (VC29)

Pardon us while we dry our eyes, because we have just shed tears of joy to what is perhaps the last needed Kit Fisto figure you will ever want to add to your collection. (Well, as far as an Episode III version of him is concerned at least.) In case you aren’t aware, Kit Fisto is another “victim” (used very lightly here) of incorrect designation as this new action figure is based on his appearance in Revenge Of The Sith and not Attack Of The Clones (which is the card back logo he comes packaged with instead). If you’re an in-package collector, you may be put off by this, but loose collectors will be able to revel in the fact that this action figure now beats all other previous version of Episode III based Kit Fisto action figures. And we are so thrilled Hasbro went above and beyond the call of duty to make such a wonderful action figure. When Kit Fisto was announced we caught grumblings of many collectors on why Hasbro decided to take on Kit Fisto again. We may be unable to give a fair opinion here as we are Kit Fisto aficionados, but we couldn’t think of a better place or time to revisit this Jedi. And even though we just got an updated Episode II version of him in the Kit Fisto/Geonosian Warrior TARGET exclusive Geonosis Arena Showdown two-pack, we hope Hasbro has at least one more plan on their agenda to release the Episode II specific head on this new figure’s body. Man, oh man is it such a great time to be a Star Wars collector.

As previously mentioned, Kit Fisto is based on his appearance in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. Hasbro has been having a few issues sourcing their figures correctly in The Vintage Collection, and Kit Fisto is one that was missed (and likely will not be corrected). In Episode II, Kit has much larger eyes and more detail in the skin on his head than how he appeared in Episode II. And besides, and we could be incorrect here, but we don’t recall seeing his Jedi robe in Episode II at all. We may need to research this a bit further to be sure. The action figure is stupendous. Hasbro has not only given us the standard super-articulation we have come to expect, but they have also incorporated ball-jointed hips which is something we think all previous versions of Kit Fisto (Episode II or III) were sorely missing. This added premium articulation is a godsend. The portrait in particular will make you gasp as it’s literally the best head sculpt we have ever seen for Kit. And this is no exaggeration at all. The spotty pattern on it that reaches down his tendrils is beautifully done and we honestly couldn’t have wanted a better paint job and Hasbro has matched the green skin color to a "T." No more funny colored Kit Fisto action figures it seems. He comes with his infamous lightsaber and well-developed Jedi robe that in our opinion hangs very nicely on him. We like the big and baggy look of the Jedi robes and think Kit’s looks even better by being a little bit more tailored and clean cut.

Does Kit Fisto have any flaws? Not that we can see, but we are sure someone out there in cyberspace will find a reason to criticize Kit Fisto; but we think Hasbro couldn’t have done a finer job. The Geonosis Arena Showdown figure is not too shabby at all. But you have to remember that the Kit Fisto figure in that set is a true Episode II version of him. The Vintage Collection Kit Fisto is the modern definitive replacement for all Episode III versions. Forget about your Revenge Of The Sith figures from 2005 because they’re now antiquated. The action figure line has come so far. Even the 2010 The Clone Wars Kit Fisto (CW23) is something to smile about because Hasbro is able more than ever to capture such exactness (as well as personality) in our action figures in this day and age. If you think you have a decent Kit Fisto action figure, think again. Because The Vintage Collection version eclipses everything you currently own and what you thought could be done to improve this very revered Jedi. Everything you’ve ever wanted for Kit Fisto is right here—and then some. We know that there are many yet-to-be-made action figures that collectors want to see made. And they wonder why a character previously attempted gets revisited before an all-new figure. But we have to level with you. Buy this figure and you’ll instantly discover why it was such a priority to get another version of Kit Fisto out there so soon. You will have zero regrets.
