At first, we weren’t so sure where Quay Tolsite was featured in Solo: A Star Wars Story. Then as we searched for images the memories came flooding back. Quay Tolsite is the director of the Pyke Syndicate’s operations on Kessel. And at first we also believed he was carrying a chain around with him, but that’s only partially true. Quay Tolsite instead carries a ring of code keys which are required to access key systems within the mining facilities of his homeworld. Quay Tolsite is a very interesting character, but also a very interesting action figure. It’s nice to get alien species in the Hasbro line these days. Sadly, new Star Wars Entertainment is loaded with too many human characters, and the auxiliary characters are often forsook so they can concentrate on the main characters instead. Let’s face it. We’re at wave 4 of the Star Wars [Solo] Force Link 2.0 line. And after the tragic waste of what constituted wave 3, it’s almost a miracle that Hasbro produced wave 4. We often don’t get past a couple of waves in the 5POA range, so we’d call this a significant success. What’s more, wave 4 is comprised of mostly all-new sculpts. Even the repacked figures are noteworthy. It feels like good change is in the air.

Quay Tolsite is a male Pyke from the planet Oba Diah. He served as the administrator of the Pykes' operations at Kessel, supervising along with the droids operating the command center of the spice mines, where he employed a large number of droid and Wookiee slaves to extract the spice. We may not know much else about Quay Tolsite, but now that we have the action figure in hand, let’s take a closer look at what we do know. Very Separatist looking in costume, Quay Tolsite is adorned in long and dark robes. His appearance is mostly obstructed by the cloak. His head is covered by a hood, and most of his body is covered by the robe as well. He walks around as if he is enslaved, but what you might mistake for chains are actually code keys which are required for him to navigate about the realty he oversees. A nice feature with the action figure is that his robe is removable. It’s a tad tricky to remove, but you’ll figure it out quickly. Underneath he doesn’t look all that different, but you can see the incredible detail that Hasbro etched into the action figure. He’s simply articulated with only five points of articulation, but he looks good for what he is. Other collectors will not take exception with this action figure either.

Quay Tolsite is a beautifully painted action figure too. Hasbro has come very far with the deco on their action figures, especially those in the 5POA range. When it comes to Quay Tolsite, it feels as if they reached a new apex in delivering quality deco. Quay Tolsite may have a yellow face, but if you look closely, you’ll see that there is a metallic finish to it, and it is outlined with a slightly darker color around the edges of the hood to anchor it. He has a robotic look about him, fitting for the personnel he manages, yet he also has a strong alien vibe about him too that’s unmistakable. His cloak is dirtied with the orange and yellow sands of Kessel. All of these little details add so much to a simple action figure like this. Aside from maybe wishing for the inclusion of swivel wrists, Quay Tolsite has turned out excellently. This greedy leader didn’t have a huge role in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but we’re glad to see him immortalized as an action figure now. It will be curious to see if Hasbro feels he is a viable character for The Black Series [Phase III] 6” line. We also wonder if Quay Tolsite will also one day be part of The Vintage Collection, but that is probably les likely. In conclusion, Quay Tolsite has turned out better than expected.
