The men and women of the Rebel Alliance were fiercely dedicated to the principle of freedom, and would lay down their lives to win their objectives. Some were Imperials disillusioned with their government's tyranny. Some were from worlds subjugated by the Empire. In stark contrast to the faceless anonymity of the stormtrooper ranks or the precision drilling of Imperial Academy training, Alliance troops were aggressively individualistic and much more rag-tag.

Sideshow Collectibles truly went all out when they decided to add the Rebel Commando characters from the Battle Of Endor into their 1:6 Scale Figures lineup. Not only were they the inaugural pieces for the Militaries Of Star Wars branch of the line, they came to collectors in the form of a literal trio. You could buy them individually of course, but Sideshow Collectible collectors received a couple of extra benefits by ordering the “bundle” in a set form. There wasn’t a discount in the price (which would have been the greatest benefit for collectors), but you did receive an exclusive Sideshow gift card and “early bird” ordering for the two exclusive pieces: Rebel Commando (Pathfinder: Endor) and this piece, the Rebel Commando (Sergeant: Endor) releases. They weren’t completely embraced by the buying public sadly. Perhaps the edition sizes were just too great for the market to support them, or perhaps Star Wars fans just aren’t into these characters from Return Of The Jedi as they are with others. Who really knows? But we have to make it known that they are some of the nicest figures in the line.

Rebel Commando (Sergeant: Endor) is another nice release. It pales in comparison to the other two Rebel Commando 1:6 Scale Figures Sideshow Collectibles created for the line, but it’s important to note that no two figures are wearing the same outfits. This is obviously proven by their roles (infantryman, pathfinder and sergeant), but it’s evident that Sideshow Collectibles did their part to research the various types of soldiers in this brigade and have masterfully recreated their outfits, likeness and accessories precisely in one-sixth scale. While all of the costumes look relatively similar, there are major differences among them that are important to point out. The Rebel Commando (Sergeant: Endor) wears a duster. This long trench coat is similar to the one that Han Solo wore when he arrived on Endor. Its camouflage pattern and long length work together to provide the best cover on the lush tree planet of Endor. Just like his comrades, Rebel Commando (Sergeant: Endor) wears boots combined with gaiter wraps. And all three Rebel Commando types are outfitted with the same helmets, bandolier and blaster rifle.

We did have some difficulty trying to match the Rebel Commando (Sergeant: Endor) figure’s likeness with a character from Episode VI during the Battle of Endor. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t present, but we’re at a loss to find someone who has a strong resemblance to this 1:6 Scale Figure. On top of a solid shirt and gloved hands, Rebel Commando (Sergeant: Endor) comes with a soft back-pack and a utility belt that houses four removable pouches. It’s quite astounding that Sideshow Collectibles outs so much effort even in the smallest of accessories like these pouches. Overall, we’re quite pleased with how well this figure has turned out. What we’re not so happy with is the body type Sideshow Collectibles continues to use on these high-end large-scaled figures. The Art S. Buck body type is sol tired it has fallen asleep and is almost no longer worth using anymore. It limits how much you can articulate the figure and it even prevents you from attaining some poses thanks to the connected parts that run from left to right on the figure. Thankfully, you can still appreciate this figure in spite of its faults, although, we're still partial to the Rebel Commando (Infantryman: Endor) figure still.
