Senate commando Captain Argyus assists in the transportation of captured Separatist leader Nute Gunray. A member of the Senate Guard, Argyus fights the battle droids that have attacked the ship in an effort to free Gunray. But Argyus has a secret agenda that will jeopardize the successful completion of this important mission.

Captain Faro Argyus is probably the bluest “clone trooper” we will ever receive, but then again, maybe not since he really isn’t a clone trooper. While this may seem like an unlikely choice for an armored figure, we have to remember that he was the model precursor for the Senate Guard. (If we check under the robe of our 2005 ROTS Royal Guard [Senate Guard] (III 23) figure, we realize that their uniforms were solid blue too.) To be honest, he should be more colored in a steel blue-gray color, but we know from experience that color doesn't necessarily translate perfectly over to a figure. He was captain of the Senate Commandos that was primarily stationed on Coruscant. Sadly, he was a traitor. He was enticed by Count Dooku to release Nute Gunray from imprisonment. Apparently, he stole the glory of this mission away from Asajj Ventress spelling his untimely doom at the fate of her lightsaber. Captain Argyus also has the distinction of being one of the enemies who got into a physical altercation with Commander Gree. It was an exciting fight and it’s rare that we see commanders get so physically involved with one on one battles. Captain Argyus also comes outfitted with a legion of senate guards at his disposal to guard, serve, and protect as required. An easy retool, we expect to see Argyus’ battalion created since the only noticeable difference is the blind visor on the helmet. Prepare yourself to army build again!

Captain Argyus has the thickest head of hair we have yet to see on an action figure. Full of curls and loops, Argyus’ strawberry blonde hairstyle looks as if it was inspired from the munchkins’ or Emerald City residents’ hair in The Wizard Of Oz. This is not a cut-down, but rather just a natural observation. We honestly can't believe how thick his hair is. It does add a plethora of personality to his already authoritative stature. His face was designed with a dramatic furrowed brow; a detail that gives him more authenticity to his appearance in The Clone Wars. We are so impressed with every last attention to detail Hasbro gave this figure. He has his dimpled chin, his unique nose, and his alert eyebrows and they are all faithfully replicated with amazing skill and accuracy. Argyus is super-articulated and has his joints in all the right places where you would expect them to be. Captain Argyus utilizes parts from 2008's TCW [B] Clone Trooper (No. 5) in addition to some new parts, most notable his right arm. On it is a Jedi Temple like pattern that is sharply colored in white and looks brilliant against the blue armor. It is very neatly executed and has all the curves and sharp angles that help it look very realistic. We are extremely impressed with the deco on him and we congratulate Hasbro on a job well done.

We didn't realize how nice it was going to be to get an armored figure in The Clone Wars line that looks so unlike a standard clone trooper. And one of the nicest things on Captain Argyus is his helmet which is very reminiscent of the Episode I Senate Guard helmet. But Captain Argyus has so much more to offer your collection than even what we have itemized here. He adds distinct color to the line and looks awesome posed next to the Asajj Ventress figure. Although his role in The Clone Wars was short-lived, he made a lasting imprint in the Star Wars saga. It would be gravy if Hasbro decides to make his army. We hope they do, because we think he would be cooler and much more imposing with a legion of soldiers behind him. In the meantime, you'll have to make him interact with the other characters from the Cloak Of Darkness episode (which at the moment are NOT clone troopers or other soldiers). Captain Argyus is another clever example of how Hasbro has reused old parts to bring us something new to the table. This sits well with us and we hope that Hasbro will continue to deliver these types of figures throughout the line's run. If it means that we get new added features like new armor and a new head, it counts as a new figure to us. And this is a cost-effective way to ensure we keep getting new figures. Captain Argyus is a wonderfully executed figure and worth your consideration to add into your collections!
