Aided by his droid R4-P17, Obi-Wan Kenobi flies an Eta-2 Jedi starfighter on a mission to rescue Supreme Chancellor Palpatine. His acute Jedi instincts help him battle overwhelming odds.

When it came to making the definitive Revenge Of The Sith version of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Hasbro certainly saved the best for last. After all of the action-feature ridden figures released throughout 2005, Hasbro released the III 55 figure and it quickly became one of the most favorite figures for collectors. Long-awaited and much needed, collectors had something for their collection they could be proud of because Hasbro really treated this iteration of him with incredible respect. Generously equipped with 23 points of articulation, Obi-Wan Kenobi has all of the movement finicky collectors demand. A ball-socket head, ball-jointed shoulders, elbows, torso, knees and ankles is accompanied with swivel wrists and hips. This assortment of movement gives Obi-Wan Kenobi every possibility pose you’d want to achieve and it should prove to you jus how astute the right sculptor can be when tasked with developing the right kind of figure with their God given talents. This will remain a definitive figure in the line for years to come. Obi-Wan Kenobi can fit inside of a cockpit. He can hold a lightsaber hilt or a fully lit lightsaber. And he can be posed in very aggressive ways thanks to his slightly widened stance and super-articulation.

Obi-Wan Kenobi comes with a borderline awkward molded outer robe. It’s definitely nowhere near the right ballpark as far as its color is concerned, but it hugs his body rather closely. Obviously it becomes problematic when it comes to placing him in a Jedi starfighter for accuracy reasons. In Episode III, Obi-Wan Kenobi always flew around space wearing his outer Jedi robes, so soft-goods will have to be added to this figure one day for this to be possible. (Editor’s Note: Hasbro slightly repainted this figure and gave it soft-goods as released it as 2006’s TSC Obi-Wan Kenobi (SAGA 028) figure. It was then tweaked one more time as 2010's TVC Obi-Wan Kenobi (VC16).) You’ll also find that you’ll have a lot more fun with this figure if you just stow away that plastic robe in a storage box.... very far away from the figure. Obi-Wan Kenobi also comes with a head set that looks a little too simply made. It has no paint details and much too thick in spots. We don’t criticize Hasbro for its slightly odd shape because it’s really not that big of a deal. And because it’s small in the film, how tiny can we expect Hasbro to scale it down for the action figure. Besides, it’s really nice to get so many accessories with basic figures. You can’t criticize Hasbro about that.

The Revenge Of The Sith line has given Star Wars fans a plethora of figures from across all species, affiliation, shapes and sizes. But sometimes all hardcore Star Wars collectors want are definitive human characters like Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi. And this long-awaited update to the Obi-Wan Kenobi figures from the beginning of the line fits this need perfectly. Besides the items we have already mentioned, there are still additional things that make this figure so enjoyable. We think the likeness on his portrait is just incredible. Obi-Wan Kenobi figures for the most part tend to look good, but this is a fine example of just how exacting sculptors can be when making these small masterpieces for us. Obi-Wan Kenobi is definitely one of these said masterpieces and the Revenge Of The Sith collection has been the greatest Star Wars movie lines to date. Hasbro know what collectors want and they are making that a reality with all of the great action figures they’ve released, especially in the Revenge Of The Sith line. Times are changing for the better and it appears that it will only get better for action figure enthusiasts like you and us. Be sure to enjoy this Obi-Wan Kenobi figure. he’s only the beginning of a great chain reaction.
