Time Capsule, Or Just Another Loser Thief?

Posted by Paul | March 30, 2015 at 10:13 PM ET |

I came across the latest instance of theft at my local TARGET. See if you can spot the item that doesn't belong. The thief actually taped a new UPC code to the bottom of this 2005 release and returned it to this store. I asked for a manager who removed it from the shelves and explained that this items was a decade old. I have yet to see it returned to the floor to date. I guess sometimes it pays off to report these things.

Damaged Item Received From Hasbro Toy Shop

I have never received a damaged item from Hasbro Toy Shop once, but look what I received from the recent in stock merchandise that began shipping recently.

Work In Progress Or Just A Plea To Come Back?

Posted by Paul | March 30, 2015 at 09:53 PM ET |

This image came from one of our readers who posted it in our comments. While most Walmarts are only for the first time recently receiving new Star Wars merchandise, it makes us wonder if they (retail) are actually beginning to realize/feel that they're losing potential business by having nothing on the pegs. This looks quite desperate, no?

Review: Han Solo (Endor) - R - Saga Legends (SL27)

Posted by Paul | March 27, 2015 at 12:35 AM ET |

It's a skort! It's a kilt! It's a very short jacket with a matching dress obstructed by hip articulation! It's the worst Han Solo (In Trench Coat) action figure we have ever received. See why Han Solo (Endor) had potential, but Hasbro just plain blew it. It's the focus of our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: Princess Leia (Endor) - R - Saga Legends (SL28)

Posted by Paul | March 26, 2015 at 12:20 AM ET |

UPDATE: BREAKING NEWS: Rebels Saga Legends Line Discontinued!?

Posted by Paul | March 25, 2015 at 01:42 PM ET |

Online retailer Andrews Toys is reporting that the latest case assortments of Star Wars: Rebels Saga Legends figures have been CANCELLED/DISCONTINUED and also will not be making future shipments of these either. You still sure nothing bleak will happen with The Black Series 3.75" line now? Huh?

UPDATE 1: We reached out to our own sources and have confirmed that this is (at the moment) ONLY true from Entertainment Earth's perspective. While that info doesn't mean anything at the moment, we're not sure how this affects other accounts. We will have more information shortly.

UPDATE 2: Mission Series could be affected in some way also.

UPDATE 3: It's looking more and more as if something similar is happening with the Mission Series and Saga Legends lines that happened with the cancelled TBS 3.75" Princess Leia (Ceremonial) assortments. Certain assortments have been cancelled. That doesn't mean however that new case configurations will not be coming. They may not be coming, but there is no conclusive proof that these figures won't return in the same Rebels line look! Is 5POA over and done with? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

See! Star Wars Command DOES Have Some Use!

Posted by Paul | March 23, 2015 at 08:38 AM ET |

We were taken aback when we visited our local Walmart and quite pleased to see Walmart making the best of the Star Wars Command garbage Hasbro sent them. They emptied the contents of the box and dumped them immediately into the clearance section and then utilized the shipping carton to do some much-needed re-shopping. To think of all the money, energy, advertising, tooling and any other wasted resource that went into this mess and we still don't have a repack of The Vintage Collection's Emperor's Royal Guard (VC105) or Ponda Baba (Walrus Man) (VC70) yet is just maddening.

Jedi Temple Archives Celebration Exclusive Details Coming Soon!

Posted by Chuck | March 19, 2015 at 09:29 AM ET |

Jedi Temple Archives has several exclusives planned for Celebration Anaheim. Here's a tease of our first exclusive, one guaranteed to be bigger than ever! You WILL want this a part of your collection! Click the logo below for a small tease of what's to come! These will be very limited at the show so make sure to follow us on all of our Social Media outlets (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) for details on WHEN you can pick it up! We will also make some available to our readers, but that will require some "work" on your part! Our full reveal will be announced soon...

Our friends at Yakface.com confirm what we reported to you days ago via Hunter PR that Princess Leia (Ceremonial) won't be coming in any of the Spring assortments in The Black Series line. The *new* news however in Hasbro's "female action figure-focused answer" is that they got Hasbro to confirm that Princess Leia (Ceremonial) is NOT cancelled (something we were quite worried about, honestly) and that she will indeed appear in a later assortment in the Fall (or later this year to be precise per the report). This has opened a new can of worms for us. It makes us surmise that we may not be done with The Black Series line just yet. OR. Princess Leia (Ceremonial) has been pushed out to the whatever new line look accompanies The Force Awakens line (maybe a hybrid line?). Let us know your thoughts!

We know that none of you are going to want to hear this, but the Rebels Mission Series Luke Skywalker/Han Solo two-pack may just give us the best modern version of "hood up" Han Solo in his Hoth gear. Yes, it pains us to say that too. But look at that portrait and tell us that he doesn't look exactly like the character from Episode V. No bushy parka hood, no sleepy eyes and a streamlined, albeit incorrect, blue coat. Also, Luke Skywalker isn't too shabby either. At least his outfit is screen accurate (for once) too. Learn more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.

Here Is Your Sneak Peek!

Posted by Paul | March 16, 2015 at 07:22 PM ET |

Coming soon to RDRs! It starts tomorrow!

Rebels Toys: You Sure Talk About Them A Lot!

Posted by Paul | March 16, 2015 at 05:39 PM ET |

Thank you! We have been amazed by the interaction our readers have been giving our recent RDRs on the new Rebels products we have added recently. Would you believe we have over 4700 unique visits with many of you coming back to banter back and forth with others again and again in our comments just this past week? There has been a great deal interest in Saga Legends waves 2 and 3 and especially today's Imperial Troop Transport vehicle. We are thrilled that we are able to provide this environment for our readers to have these discussions. No matter your position on simply articulated figures and vehicles, you have to admit that they're conversation starters! We say all this to let you know that WE HAVE MORE SURPRISES COMING! You may get a sneak peek tonight, but if not, be sure to come back tomorrow to let the discussions continue!

Like sand through an hourglass, so are the days of The Black Series 3.75" line. We know from Hasbro that what we have seen is all we're getting before The Force Awakens line is launched. But the panic is palpable about the fate of wave 8 (and a yet-to-be-determined home for one figure in particular). Our confidential informants have discovered NEW details surrounding wave 8. You may have heard rumors elsewhere (i.e. NOT JTA) that this wave was cancelled. It's not entirely inaccurate. The original case assortment, just like the original case assortment for wave 7, has been REPLACED with a different arrangement of figures. The bad news? Things have and could continue to change, but as of this time, it does NOT look like Princess Leia (Ceremonial) is coming in the spring assortments. Will The Black Series 3.75" line continue beyond these spring assortments into the Fall when TFA goes live? Perhaps, but nothing is known at this point. Click through to see what the new case assortments look like for wave 7 and wave 8 of The Black Series 3.75" line.

HURRY! HasbroToyShop.com has Rebels Saga Legends wave 4 in stock! This is the Endor wave, which also includes Commander Bly. For whatever reason the price is back down to $5.99 for these 4 figures. Use FAMILY2015 for 20% off and FREE shipping too! Oh, and The Inquisitor is back IN STOCK if you missed him the first time! A big thanks to all who wrote in to notify us. These are looking to ship at the beginning of April.

Review: Imperial Troop Transport - R - Vehicle

Posted by Paul | March 16, 2015 at 12:05 AM ET |

It took over 35 years, but we finally have a modern update to the Imperial Troop Transport. What if we told you however that it is a hollow shell of the classic Kenner vehicle (because it is). Tragically, it still looks good, although it likely won't satisfy the collecting masses. See why we're torn in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Review: Lando Calrissian [Skiff Guard Disguise] - R - SL23

Posted by Paul | March 15, 2015 at 02:20 AM ET |

We told you from the NYCC Preview Party that this was true and now we know it to be true. But how is it possible that for the first time ever Hasbro has produced the skiff guard version of Lando Calrissian without a removable helmet? This is literally the first figure to not have this feature. It is 2015 and not 1983, right? We're perplexed. Let's discuss our confusion of this in our Research Droids Reviews today. Review: Clone Commander Gree - R - Saga Legends (SL15)

Posted by Paul | March 11, 2015 at 01:05 AM ET |

We wish we could be as eager for Clone Commander Gree as we were for most of the other figures in Rebels Saga Legends wave 2, but this one is a train wreck. See why this figure may have been better off "dead" than released. It's all in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! TBS Ree-Yees Solid Case Pack Canceled!

Posted by Paul | March 10, 2015 at 04:51 PM ET |

We'll finish up the day of bad The Black Series news with this. It may go without saying for some of you, but just like most (if not all) of the other The Black Series 3.75" (phase I) solid case packs have been cancelled, we just received confirmation that the Ree-Yees solid case pack has also been cancelled. Don't expect this figure to show up in greater numbers in the future. This means he was only one per case in a "last wave syndrome" case assortment (along with Jabba's Skiff Guard). If you want him, you should probably secure him as soon as possible.

A slew of brand new canon media—more than 20 new titles—will help fill some gaps leading up to The Force Awakens! Entertainment Weekly has the full scoop! Will you be reading?

TBS6 Clone Commander Cody Wave Pre-sale Halted, Resumes May 3rd

Posted by Paul | March 10, 2015 at 02:34 PM ET |

As if collectors couldn't take one more bit of bad news, JTA sponsor Dorkside Toys has just reached out to us to let our readers know that Hasbro asked them to stop taking pre-orders on the TBS6 Clone Commander Cody wave and that pre-sales can resume May 3rd. Hasbro provided no other reasons. We are all hoping that this just means a simple reshuffling of the case assortments and nothing more. The new date should give us all more hope.

Review: AT-AT Driver - R - Saga Legends (SL18)

Posted by Paul | March 10, 2015 at 12:25 AM ET |

We will probably be mercilessly attacked for this sentiment, but the Rebels Saga Legends AT-AT Driver is to date the best AT-AT Driver action figure we have ever received. It makes the Legacy Collection BD49 version look like a total joke. And you didn't accidentally log onto Yakface.com. Yes, we don't know who we are either. Find out more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.

AT-AT Driver

The ever-changing The Black Series 3.75" line has had collectors on the edge of their seat, especially recently. The newly announced cancellation of Princess Leia (Ceremonial) from wave 7 (which by the way is only the SECOND wave in the blue phase of TBS 3.75") has some worried. The recent news of the wave 8 assortment alleviated some fears, but not too many places are accepting pre-orders on them at the moment. Hopefully that will change soon. However, we have some good news (and likely perplexing news to others) to share regarding solid case packs. Are you interested? Click through to find out which TBS 3.75" figures (at this very moment – anything can change) will be available in solid case packs.

Found! TBS6 Bossk/Han Stormtrooper Wave Found At Walmart In NC!

Posted by Paul | March 08, 2015 at 11:48 AM ET |

JTA reader cress sends us a very surprising (and borderline shocking) store report. He found The Black Series 6" wave 3 (wave 7 overall) at his local Walmart in North Carolina. For the record, I have not seen ANYTHING past the Luke Bespin/Obi-Wan Kenobi (Epiosde III)/Stormtrooper wave from a year ago in any of my local Big Box retailers. And that Anakin Skywalker (Episode III)/Clone Trooper (Episode II) final wave from the orange line look didn't show up anywhere near me. It's a testament to the devastating state distribution is in with the Star Wars brand. Hopefully this is good news that things are improving overall.

Check out the very first Luke Skywalker (In Ceremonial Outfit) action figure ever produced by Hasbro. Interestingly, a better version would follow a few short months after this one.... and with soft-goods. It's all in our Research Droids Reviews today. Rebels Saga Legends Wave 2 Hits Toys R Us In Philly!

Posted by Paul | March 07, 2015 at 03:44 PM ET |

Well, it's an almost unbelievable store report from me, but sometimes truth is stranger than fiction. Today I found Rebels Saga Legends wave 2 at my local Toys R Us in Northeast Philly. This store hasn't even seen wave 1 yet. The best part? The store manager graciously price matched TARGET's and Walmart's prices for me (despite both those stores not having a single figure in stock). Sadly, Toys R Us has set the MSRP to $7.99 for these figures which are not worth it for me. I am glad I was able to make a purchase. Admittedly, it was nice seeing a full case of figures instead of the one or two random ones you find at TARGET nowadays. New RDRs coming soon.

Kmart: There's A Whole Lot Of Shaking Going On!

Posted by Paul | March 07, 2015 at 03:36 PM ET |

Good friend Chris S. shares images of new activity at Kmart. A few things are happening here. Firstly, they are now clearancing out The Black Series Deluxe line. The sale prices are of course a joke, but it's not a good sign for this sub-line especially when new products are on the horizon. Also, they, like TARGET, also seems to think The Vintage Collection is still in production (yes, we understand why) and have marked up The Black Series 3.75" line up to $12.99 each despite not having a single figure in stock!
