Too bad all warriors in Hasbro's Universe are shiny, even Captain Rex! Click below for the Enhanced Visual Guide!

The more The Clone Wars line of figures continue, the more individual clones we are seeing. Check out Denal, part of a mission to destroy a Separatist listening post. Droid Factory Series 2 Makes Brief Return To Retail

Posted by Paul | September 27, 2009 at 06:52 AM ET |

Still having difficulty finding the new WAL*MART exclusive Droid Factory sets? We have seen them make a small return appearance (and then instantly disappear) in a few stores around our area. So it looks like we may get a [brief] second opportunity to purchase them. Certainly a hot seller, it will be the only way (ever - per Hasbro) to get the coveted Dark Trooper Phase III Build A Droid figure. It looks like Hasbro was correct that this round was indeed produced in lower quantities. And be sure to check out the General Grievous/CB-3D, Anakin Skywalker/Cortosis Battle Droid, Boba Fett/BL-17, Darth Maul/I-5YQ, and Corran Horn/R2 Whistler reviews in our Research Droids Reviews archive.

Review: Anakins Skywalker - TCW - CW21

Posted by Paul | September 27, 2009 at 03:55 AM ET |

Heroes in all-new outfits is another thing that is expected in the basic figure line. But what if that outfit doesn't look all that differently? Today's Research Droids Reviews looks at one such example. And actually, this Anakin Skywalker figure is so much more than he appears to be. Check it out and we hope you also enjoy our newly revised Research Droids Reviews archive, including re-edited reviews and new features! It's a work in progress so we appreciate your patience in advance! Click the Research Droids banner for our Research Droids Reviews archive index or the thumbnail for the direct review below! Posted by Paul | September 26, 2009 at 05:11 PM ET |

Droids are an integral part of Star Wars. And today's Research Droids Reviews looks at a new droid creation that was designed for The Clone Wars television series. Borrowing parts from an already familiar design, the Commando Droid is an action figure that delivers in all ways. Check it out and we hope you also enjoy our newly revised Research Droids Reviews archive, including re-edited reviews and new features! Sponsor Announcement: Brian's Toys

Posted by Chuck | September 25, 2009 at 09:35 PM ET |

I dropped a 7lb book on my foot yesterday, causing me to scream King Grayskull's name in vain.  This wasn't no ordinary 7lb book, this was Gus & Duncan's Comprehensive Guide to Star Wars Collectibles.  I emphasize comprehensive, because this almost 1,000-page book covers everything Star Wars.  It boasts a collection 10x larger than Brian's Toys inventory.  We even have the book autographed!

Just in time for Halloween, we have the Count Dooku and Obi-Wan Kenobi (The Phantom Menace) FX lightsaber.  Finally! An obi-wan saber for guys like me who can't grow facial hair. Pre-order the Asajj FX too while you are at it.

Posted by Chuck | September 25, 2009 at 04:58 PM ET |

Next up in The Clone Wars Visual Guide is the baddest master of them all: Mace Windu, making his animated debut. A diplomat by nature, he urges discussion and compromise over open conflict. Yet when he must raise his lightsaber in battle, he does so with the skill of a true Jedi Knight. Check out all the details below. You can also read our review on this figure here.

Greatest Hits Figures Are More "New" Than "Hits"!

Posted by Paul | September 25, 2009 at 09:34 AM ET |

You are all well aware that the "Greatest Hits" figures have been absorbed as basic figures into the main line. But you may just want to pay closer attention to the figures and NOT overlook them. It appears that the Boba Fett figure will be new after all based on his appearance from The Empire Strikes Back. The former Evolutions figure gets a makeover! He has been painted so dramatically we thought he was the Return of The Jedi version at first! And with the recent news of a cleaner looking Commander Bacara and the slight deco change on the already released Biker Scout, it looks like we are going to get more than we bargained for in the basic line. Click thumbnail to check this figure out in addition to MANY more!

Posted by Paul | September 13, 2009 at 04:49 PM ET |

Today was the official first day to pick your free Clone Trooper manual from Toys R Us (with a purchase of $30 or more). We thought you may want to take a closer look at it to see if it is worth adding to your collections as well. It is one of the nicest exclusives in a very long time! Mighty Muggs - R.I.P.!

Posted by Paul | September 13, 2009 at 06:43 AM ET |

Our good friends at Imperial Shipyards have received the word from Hasbro that despite all the "leading on" with them that they are definitely history. There will be no more even if they do very well at Toys R Us as remaining stock will be exclusive to them. Likely to upset some collectors, we are sad to see them go as well.

Y-wing Bomber - There It Is, There It Isn't....

Posted by Paul | September 12, 2009 at 12:01 PM ET |

The Y-wing Bomber is making elusive appearances at retail in the Philadelphia area. If you read all the Hasbro Q & A for session #76, you may also remember the elusive answers we got from Hasbro regarding this vehicle. If you see it, you may just want to pick it up. Although, only time will tell to see if this hits in greater numbers, but we recommend erring on the side of caution for this particular vehicle. So far it is the cheapest at WAL*MART, so try there first. Click through to check it out!

Review: Queen Amidala - LC - BD08

Posted by Paul | September 11, 2009 at 03:55 AM ET |

We waited so long for the figure in today's Research Droids Reviews to become available to collectors and the final product is a significant disappointment and definitely not worth the wait. Is there anything worse than waiting and being excited for an action figure and then getting a piece of junk? Posted by Paul | September 10, 2009 at 09:44 AM ET |

New WAL*MART 2-Packs (Under The Helmet Series)

Posted by Paul | September 10, 2009 at 08:14 AM ET |

Another line of two-packs entitled "Under The Helmet" have started arriving as an exclusive at WAL*MART locations. While they look very similar to the first set of two-packs, the packaging is altogether different. What is Hasbro doing?  Argh! They are pretty cool nonetheless. One pack includes Captain Rex (yes - he's painted uniquely with a new intentional blue stain on his wrist) and Clone Trooper Fives (new) while the other pack includes a newly paint ops application on Clone Commander Cody and what looks to be a straight repack of Clone Trooper Echo.

Found (At Retail Level)! Saga Legends Chewbacca BD 3

Posted by Paul | September 08, 2009 at 02:39 PM ET |

Found earlier today at the Cinnaminson, NJ TARGET was the error Saga Legends Chewbacca figure. For those of you who may not be aware, very few production samples/case assortments were packed with the BD 3 Chewbacca (Sandstorm) figure instead of the correct VOTC Chewbacca. This is definitely more than a photo shoot mistake (as evidenced by our purchase) so we recommend checking out your retail stores if you are definitely wanting this figure in your collections. These errors are very likely to be a lot rarer than we think. For those who are curious, there were no signs of the error Han Solo (Bespin) figure without his jacket. Click through to check out the proof.

Hoth Rebel Trooper First Variation Found Again!

Posted by Paul | September 08, 2009 at 02:29 PM ET |

We were surprised to witness a TARGET employee open a "brand new" case of wave 6 of TLC (The Empire Strikes Back wave) in front of us this morning and pull out a "no skirt" Hoth Rebel Trooper. These may still be shipping out there folks, so keep your eyes peeled if you're looking to add this figure to your collection. Click thumbnail below to check out this hard to find figure!

Review: Clone Commandos - LC - Evolutions (Exclusive)

Posted by Paul | September 08, 2009 at 06:10 AM ET |

2009 marks the beginning of an end for a line of figures that we have grown very fond of and we are a bit blue to see it go. WAL*MART Exclusive Evolutions For Under $15?

Posted by Paul | September 06, 2009 at 09:59 AM ET |

Stop the press! We are getting reports that the WAL*MART exclusive Evolutions sets are ringing up at the register now for $14.96. While we have yet to confirm what actually transpires at the register (i.e. customers saying they are $14.96 to the cashiers), we do have proof of the sets being snagged for $14.96. (Please see receipt below.) Those of you who have been fortunate enough to find these for this price (or lower), count yourselves "lucky". We expect WAL*MART to discover the error soon enough. You can also check out our first impressions report here in case you have missed our original post.
