Walmart BOGO Blockbuster ValueTwo-Packs! Read On!

Posted by Paul | November 29, 2009 at 10:41 AM EDT |

Remember those Walmart exclusive Value Packs from The Saga Collection? Walmart goes back to their roots and are now offering another special two-pack for the 2009 holiday season. Being found right now are the blue The Legacy Collection two-packs. As of this posting, it looks as if the figures are only being culled from Wave 3, Wave 4, and Wave 5 and put together in one package that retails for $7.46! That's $3.73 each! If you passed on any of these great figures, now is the time to pick them up! BOGO makes us bonkers! What a steal! Click through to see a larger image of these sets!

Review: R2-D2 - LC - BD29

Posted by Paul | November 29, 2009 at 05:20 AM EDT |

R2-D2 is the third figure in the A New Hope wave in the Legacy Collection that has been retooled from a 2004 VOTC figure. Research Droids Reviews takes a look at this astromech droid and is pretty happy with the final results. Walmart Is Getting Inundated With New Figures!

Posted by Paul | November 28, 2009 at 01:53 PM EDT |

Walmart is getting a plethora of holiday endcaps full of new Star Wars figures. These can be found at the front checkout area of the store or back in the toy aisles. We found the new The Clone Wars Padmé wave in good supply in addition to tons of the Revenge Of The Sith and Return Of The Jedi figures.

Review: Han Solo - LC - BD30

Posted by Paul | November 28, 2009 at 06:12 AM EDT |

We also get "another" Han Solo in the A New Hope wave in the Legacy Collection. Research Droids Reviews takes a look at this figure and wonders why Hasbro took the approach they did with it. Is it everything you would want in a Han Solo action figure? We absolutely say "no" but the figure may still offer things that you will like. We haven't been that impressed. Click the Research Droids banner for our Research Droids Reviews archive index or the thumbnail for the direct review below! Don't forget you can also e-mail us your review requests and we'll be sure to add your choice to the queue.

It seems the last few waves of both Legacy and Clone Wars figures have been scarce on toy shelves these past few months, but in time for Black Friday new toys are hitting and hitting hard. Incredible BOGO Deal On Kmart Star Wars Figures!

Posted by Paul | November 22, 2009 at 05:19 PM EDT |

Kmart is having an incredible sale on all basic Star Wars action figures. They are BOGO (buy one, get one free)! Also, the latest The Clone Wars wave (including the Clone Tank Gunner, Matchstick and the new Padmé Amidala figures - we just found them today in great numbers) have been hitting there pretty frequently so now is a better time than ever to trek out to the Big K! The figures retail for $8.99 each, but with the sale they come to $4.50 each. This is a great deal! Click through for the proof!

Review: Commander Bacara - LC - BD47

Posted by Paul | November 22, 2009 at 04:05 AM EDT |

The Legacy Collection is sure giving us a lot of clone commanders and Research Droids Reviews looks at a figure that helps to pad the Revenge Of The Sith themed wave, Commander Bacara. Thank goodness Hasbro used the sculpt from the 2008 TAC Battle Packs set, but unfortunately the figure is lacking one major detail! Utris M'toc Cancellation Just A Nasty Rumor!

Posted by Paul | November 21, 2009 at 04:45 AM EDT |

We have a very happy update to the very upsetting answer given in the most recent Q&A seen at Creature Cantina. Galactic Hunter received word directly from Derryl Depriest and he canned the nasty rumor that Utris M'toc would not make it out as a running change as misinformation. Thank the Maker! Utris M'toc will indeed be released in wave 13 (the Expanded Universe wave) in the Legacy Collection. Breathe that sigh of relief everyone!

If you are a Boba Fett freak, you may just like the figure added to our Research Droids Reviews today. But we expect that he will be a hard sell, especially since he is recycled from a not-so-exciting previous action figure from 2005. Legacy Collection - In Like A Lamb, Out Like A Lion!

Posted by Paul | November 19, 2009 at 09:14 AM EDT |

What are you looking for in the Legacy Collection as far as basic figures are concerned? Wave 2 (Return Of The Jedi) is appearing in healthy supply at TARGET, Wave 3 (A New Hope) can be found frequently at Walmart and TARGET, and wave 4 (Revenge Of The Sith) can be found at Toys R Us and Walmart. Legacy Collection has arrived hot and heavy! What are you finding out there? Of course, you may be finding all three waves everywhere, but the point is to get out there now and find the stuff! (FYI - the A New Hope wave seems to be the hardest to comes across in the Philly area as of right now.)

Check out Hasbro's response at Creature Cantina. They also received word that the running change Cloud City Wing Guard will probably not make it out either. Such exciting and sad news all at once!

Review: YVH-1 - LC - Build A Droid

Posted by Paul | November 13, 2009 at 06:05 AM EDT |

The Build A Droid figures are certainly a diverse group of droids! Hasbro has culled them from all across the films as well as rich Expanded Universe sources. Today's Research Droids Reviews entry looks at a model that was created by Lando Calrissian as seen in The New Jedi Order series. But can they beat the Yuuzhan Vong? Revenge Or Return Of The Green Slime?

Posted by Paul | November 10, 2009 at 10:39 PM EDT |

Do you remember that green slimy fuzz (that could easily wipe away) that appeared on many of the white figures in the 2002-2004 Star Wars line? We don't want to cause premature alarm, but with all the new figures we found this afternoon (the Revenge Of The Sith wave), we discovered some (not all) of the Stormtrooper, Commander Bacara and Han Solo (Stormtrooper Gear) figures had some very familiar looking greenish deposit on them (that we could also easily wipe away). Is Hasbro returning to the same plastics of years ago? We tried our best to photograph this for you to see it, but our cameras just didn't seem to pick it up in the snapshots. Long story short, check out your [white] figures before you buy them.

Found! Wave 4 - Revenge Of The 3.75" Scaled Figures!

Posted by Paul | November 10, 2009 at 02:33 PM EDT |

Revenge Of The Action Figures!!! We will just call it plain "Thank You Hasbro!" Call it whatever you like but Wave 4 (or 11) (the Revenge Of The Sith wave) has infiltrated Toys R Us in alarming numbers! We found four (4) cases this morning at our local Langhorne, PA location. While we have yet to see any wave 3 figures (the A New Hope wave) hit the pegs, we will at the moment be more more thankful that we found these! Click through for the proof! Get out there folks and beat the shoppers to the stores that only come out of the woodwork November 1st through Christmas!

And these price wars are now impacting Star Wars collectors. Listen this week as we discuss where the savings can be had on Star Wars toys this holiday season!

Posted by Chuck | November 03, 2009 at 11:27 AM EDT |

A mint on card Vlix. A life sized bronze Yoda statue. A custom action figure of Steve Sansweet in an Ewok outfit. There are some collectibles that we collectors will never get, either due to cost, availability, the fact that they are one of a kind, or perhaps simply because we don't know about them. But with Steve Sansweet's new book 1,000 Collectibles -- Memorabilia and Stories From A Galaxy Far, Far Away we can find out abot some of hese items, as well as some more common ones such as Monkey-Face Leia from 1995's Power of the Force 2 line. Arnie and Marjorie review that book, as well as the Lego Star Wars Visual Dictionary, on this week's Star Wars Action News!
