Found! Red Phase Legacy Collection Saga Legends

Posted by Paul | June 19, 2009 at 08:12 PM EDT |

More signs of "phase red" of the Legacy Collection (it seems the "The" has been dropped) are hitting the brick and mortar side of retail. Found in a TARGET store today are the newest Saga Legends figures. And when we say new, we only mean newly packaged as there certainly is nothing new contained behind the bubble! However, we did notice that there is now a picture of a Clone Trooper (that isn't the Coruscant Landing Platform Clone Trooper) on the back of the Clone Trooper (Revenge Of The Sith) figure which may prove the fact (which we have clung to for a while now) that the plain white ones are indeed seen in Star Wars Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith. Let the controversy begin! Click through for all the new photos!

Posted by Paul | June 18, 2009 at 08:58 AM EDT |

We have pictures to show off of the brand-spanking-new 12" Stormtrooper Commander from Sideshow Collectibles. A character that is destined to become a hot commodity simply because of the fact that so many collectible interpretations of it are so elusive (can anyone say "Blackhole Stormtrooper"?), the figure is nonetheless striking. Sideshow also made some enhancements to the Stormtrooper body as well, continuing to improve on an already excellent design. Click thumbnail below to see all the goodness in detail!

Star Wars Action News - Episode 199

Posted by Bryan | June 16, 2009 at 07:48 PM EDT |

For anyone who collects autographs there are some rare, hard to get autographs that would be the one they want above all others. The rarity of these autographs is what makes Master Replicas able to charge $800 more for a Millennium Falcon WITH Harrison Ford's autograph versus one without. For Arnie, that ultimate autograph has always been George Lucas, and this past weekend at the Siskel Film Center Arnie was able to get that autograph and meet "the maker". This week on Star Wars Action News, Arnie and Marjorie report on the George Lucas tribute at the Siskel Center and discuss finally getting that picture and autograph.

Star Wars Action News - Episode 198

Posted by Chuck | June 09, 2009 at 07:34 PM EDT |

Ever since 1977 Star Wars fans have loved Stormtroopers. But the problem is, they're all mostly the same. Sure, there are Sandtroopers with their colored shoulders, and Snowtroopers with their erie hoods and half-capes, but really there is just one Stormtrooper. Leave it to Hasbro to find a way to give us a multi-pack full of unique, helmet-removable stormtroopers by making the Joker's Squad of Stormtroopers from the Legacy comic books. We review these figures this week.

In today's Research Droids Reviews we look at a background character from the street of Mos Eisley. Wioslea was an ugly female alien with some impressive height and Jedi-like looks. Do You Need 12" Stormtrooper Replacement Hands?

Posted by Paul | June 07, 2009 at 02:57 PM EDT |

If you have already purchased the 12" Imperial Stormtrooper from Sideshow Collectibles, chances are you may already be aware of the paint-chipping issue on the hands. Many of the figures' hands were cast in white plastic and painted black and easily chip when another object brushes against them, including the Stormtrooper's own blaster rifle. But Sideshow's excellent customer service department is sending out replacement hands (this time cast in black plastic) to those in need. Click through to see an exaggerated photo of the damage that is possible with the old white cast hands.

Review: Spacetrooper - TLC - BD 32

Posted by Paul | June 07, 2009 at 07:30 AM EDT |

Another Research Droids Reviews entry is added to the archives today. We look at a figure that we've wanted for a long time and our patience has finally paid off. Spacetrooper is quite a novelty figure because he is barely noticeable in the first Star Wars film. Click the thumbnail below for more about this special figure! Posted by Paul | June 03, 2009 at 06:07 PM EDT |

If you're a fan of the Titanium line, the latest vehicles have been spotted at Toys R Us. Star Wars Action News - Episode 197

Posted by Bryan | June 02, 2009 at 02:11 PM EDT |

The Star Wars Mighty Muggs are an interesting line. While so many of the Muggs warm shelves across the nation, others go for top dollar on eBay. With shoddy distribution and a number of exclusives, the only true reliable way to get the newest Muggs at near-retail prices is ordering by the case. This week on Star Wars Action News, we open cases of Wave 8 and 9 Mighty Muggs and see if they are worth the trouble, and also review the exclusive Admiral Ackbar and Shadow Stormtrooper Muggs.

Review: Captain Needa - TLC - BD 40

Posted by Paul | June 02, 2009 at 08:55 AM EDT |

The focus of today's Research Droids Reviews is a slacker member of the Galactic Empire. Captain Needa was a tall thin captain that didn't meet Vader's expectations and suffered a doomed fate. Another fine addition to The Legacy Collection, Captain Needa pioneers a feature that will sure be applied to future Imperial officers. Don't forget you can also e-mail us your review requests and we'll be sure to add your choice to the queue.
