Review: Clone Trooper Officer [Captain] - TAC - Saga Legends

Posted by Chuck | October 30, 2012 at 06:54 PM ET |

Today's Research Droids Review comes in a bit late. Paul has been busy dealing with the wake of Sandy and no power. In the mean time, you can read about our latest addition to the 30 (77-07) line, the Captain variation of Clone Trooper Officer. Read the full report in our Research Droids Reviews today. Disney Acquires Lucasfilm... Star Wars VII Officially Announced!

Posted by Chuck | October 30, 2012 at 05:06 PM ET |

It's now time for me to pass `Star Wars' on to a new generation of filmmakers. And with that, the biggest Star Wars entertainment news since the announcement of the Prequel Trilogy has just hit the internet! Disney has just purchased Lucasfilm for $4.05 billion! With this announcement we get Star Wars: Episode VII in 2015, plus even more! And before you double-check your calendar, today is NOT April Fools!

Read about this on CNN, Wall Street Journal, and find the full press release at Ain't It Cool News...

Star Wars Episode 7 is targeted for release in 2015, with more feature films expected to continue the Star Wars saga and grow the franchise well into the future.

Update: Make sure to stop by the Official Site for some in-depth coverage of this landmark event (a big thanks to JTA reader Mike_5555 for the heads-up).

Review: Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight - Ultimate Quarter Scale

Posted by Paul | October 28, 2012 at 09:51 AM ET |

The Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight Ultimate Quarter Scale is a frustrating collectible. It has one of the best and most accurate costumes of the character, but the portrait does it no justice at all. There Is Another.... Yoda Variation

Posted by Paul | October 22, 2012 at 02:12 AM ET |

There is a surprising "new" variation to the Yoda (VC20) figure. A while back our friends at Yakface.com documented the change in Yoda's cloak, but while shooting new galleries for our reviews, we just discovered a new one. Click through to see what we have found.

We are aware that Sideshow Collectibles' Life Size Bust line isn't for everyone, but we had to direct your attention to a pretty sweet deal they're offering on the Clone Trooper (501st Legion) Life Size Bust. Right now (and who knows how long it will last) you can order it for $499.99 ($100 off its normal MSRP) in addition to FREE shipping. As someone who collects this line, let me tell you that shipping can run as high as $50 for these. This is a wonderful deal! I just ordered one myself!

Review: Shadow Guard (The Force Unleashed) - Mini Bust

Posted by Paul | October 15, 2012 at 07:57 AM ET |

It always surprises us when a repainted/slightly resculpted Mini Bust looks sharper than its original. But that's exactly what happened with the Shadow Guard (The Force Unleashed) PGM exclusive. In our Research Droids Reviews today you'll find a Mini Bust that is indeed excellent, but it was pure luck whether you got a nicely painted speciment or not. (We were fortunate). Posted by Paul | October 08, 2012 at 07:56 AM ET |

The Movie Heroes line isn't a collector-embraced line, but Hasbro has still thrown in a couple of super-articulated action figures like Luke Skywalker and have added a few new bells and whistles. Review: Mawhonic (Podracer Pilot) - TVC - VC71

Posted by Paul | October 05, 2012 at 03:46 AM ET |

Arguably, the Discover The Force line, aside from The Vintage Collection was the best Hasbro had to offer collectors in 2012. Mawhonic (Podracer Pilot) was part of that special 12 figure exclusive set, but was intended to be a TVC release first. Finally released in the last wave of The Vintage Collection, he can be seen in full detail in our Research Droids Reviews today!! Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.

Review: Obi-Wan Kenobi - TVC - VC103

Posted by Paul | October 02, 2012 at 08:14 AM ET |

There is a mixed response on the realistic interpretation of Obi-Wan Kenobi and we're not exactly sure why. This unbelievable super-articulated figure looks fantastic and has a brilliant portrait. But this is only the tip of the iceberg for where this figure shines. See him in great detail in our Research Droids Reviews now!
