Review: Princess Leia [Slave Outfit] - OTC - OTC #33

Posted by Paul | May 23, 2013 at 06:27 AM EDT |

The Original Trilogy Collection Princess Leia (in her slave outfit) is proof that super-articulation isn't isn't needed for every action figure. A mixed media figure, she sport soft-goods, metal and corn silk details. While she is only a repack (or slight repaint depending upon your point of view), she looks fantastic in the OTC packaging. Do you own this good-looking figure? You should. Learn more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! Review: Luke Skywalker [Jedi Knight] - OTC - OTC #06

Posted by Paul | May 22, 2013 at 06:11 AM EDT |

How can a figure with 14 points of articulation be so bad? We actually say that somewhat affectionately about The Original Trilogy Collection's Luke Skywalker [as Jedi Knight] figure. The packaging is great, and the likeness isn't terrible, but the articulation is seemingly pointless. See what we mean in our Research Droids Reviews today. Feel free to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.

Why You Need To Study The Sky Guy Paradox

Posted by Paul | May 20, 2013 at 07:13 PM EDT |

I just found out that my pal Chris Swanski at BanthaSkull.com has the same disdain for Star Wars Episode II: Attack Of The Clones as I do. But perhaps more importantly, what I also didn't realize is that he's written another clever wiki entry on the topic of something he's deemed the Sky Guy Paradox which attempts to explain the phenomena of how characters from Episode II look inexplicably 10 years older (and what I think it significantly more than that) than they should in Episode IV. Before you accidentally interpret this post as some sort of one-sided bromance, click through to learn about the Sky Guy Paradox. Brilliant! (And VERY entertaining!)

Posted by Paul | May 20, 2013 at 12:32 PM EDT |

OK. So we now know a new Star Wars animated series is coming!!! This has our brains going into overdrive about how Hasbro will approach this toy line. Since they left us miserably hanging in the dark with The Clone Wars line, we hope that this new toy line based on the TV show is handled much differently. We have some ideas to throw Hasbro's way and we want YOUR INPUT too! Comment away please! Click through for more!

Review: 21 Days Of The OT: Day 20: R5-D4 - Jumbo Kenner

Posted by Paul | May 20, 2013 at 05:53 AM EDT |

How frustrating is it that the R5-D4 action figure from 1979 is technically more accurate than the modern ones? (Well, that depends upon your own point of view.) Find out why this is so as we we continue to visit some recently released collectibles in this line in our Research Droids Reviews. Review: 21 Days Of The OT: Day 18: Snaggletooth - Jumbo Kenner

Posted by Paul | May 18, 2013 at 07:51 AM EDT |

There is no universal agreement as to whom the Snaggletooth action figure is meant to represent. Is this Takeel? Is this Zutton? Is this Rachalt Hyst? Some even believe Snaggletooth is an amalgamation of all three! Kenner used a picture of Rachalt Hyst on the packaging, but it goes without saying that the intent of all vintage Kenner figures was to mirror them from the films and not The Star Wars Holiday Special. So it's very likely that Snaggletooth just suffered the same costume, accuracy and aesthetics issues as Hammerhead and Walrus Man did, etc. Still, some collectors feel otherwise. What do you think? Stay closely engaged with us as we continue to visit some recently released collectibles in this line in our Research Droids Reviews. Gentle Giant Ltd. surprised us all when they announced they had plans to reproduce a replica of the Cantina Adventure Set for the Jumbo Vintage Figures line. It's not an exact replica, but it's pretty darn close. See it from every angle and with all four Jumbo Vintage Kenner Figures for which it was designed. (For the record, this playset came without any figures.) Stay closely engaged with us as we continue to visit some recently released collectibles in this line in our Research Droids Reviews.
