We are continuing to look at a group of figures that could be considered the precursor to the 2007 30 (77-07) Saga Legends line. In 2004, Hasbro created a collection of repacked action figures in the Star Wars "Saga" line and unofficially dubbed them the Hall Of Fame collection. Next up is Obi-Wan Kenobi (Coruscant Chase). This figure is the focus of our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.

Longtime JTA reader icatch9 has found something surprising at his local Meijer in Illinois today. The BB-8 and R2-D2 big Jakks Pacific figures arrived, and then the "shampoo bottle" single versions of BB-8 and R2-D2 in Hasbro's line. Although nothing new, these single-packed figure were SUPPOSED to pre-date the TARGET exclusive three-pack (but we know how lovely distribution is these days). Nothing like new merchandise arriving as stores are clearancing out The Force Awakens stuff to prepare for Rogue One! Gotta love it!

Michael Leader, the man who played the Stormtrooper that famously hit his head on the blast shield doorway has died. Metro.co.uk has the full story. Special thanks to JTA reader Marc G. for the alert!

UPDATE 1: It looks like Metro.co.uk has an inaccurate story. Although Michael Leader did pass away, apparently he was not responsible for this famous Star Wars blooper. Wookieepedia goes on to explain that the actor who hit his head was actually Laurie Goode (who is alive and well).

UPDATE 2: This story may be accurate. Wookieepedia documents that BOTH Michael Leader and Laurie Goode recall bumping their heads as stormtroopers. We'll let you decide.

Riverspoon Studios has designed beautiful custom vintage inspired Star Wars Funko Pop! boxes because, well, Star Wars merchandise doesn't look better in anything else obviously. And now I want these for my own collection. Hasbro, Funko, Gentle Giant, Disney and every other Star Wars license: please pay attention. Don't squander 2017. It's the 40th anniversary of the movie that started it all. And there won't be a better time to grab all of the collectors that you've lost. So this means it MUST be the year for vintage-inspired Kenner packaging. It's the ONLY thing that will guarantee you massive sales in 2017. Please make it happen! Let's see TVC return, let's see The Black Series 6" line in miniature Large Size Action Figure boxed and let's see Funko do this to the Pops! line. And let's see a whole bunch more things like this happen! Special thanks to friend Allen S. for alerting me to this beautiful mess.

Hasbro LOVES Princess Leia.... And Apparently So Will We!

Posted by Paul | August 24, 2016 at 08:21 AM ET |

Here is The Black Series 6" scoop we teased last night. It's true. Hasbro REALLY does love Princess Leia. And I am going to tell you why. The Black Series [Phase III] 6" Princess Leia Organa may not be coming out before the end of the year. She has been "cancelled" from wave 2 from the Fall 2016 lineup. (more....)

We are continuing to look at a group of figures that could be considered the precursor to the 2007 30 (77-07) Saga Legends line. Darth Maul (Theed Hangar Duel)

We've just learned from an inside source that September 1st will be the day that Disney announces its next wave of figures for the Disney Elite Series line, which will be continuing with Rogue One (and supposedly other) characters. Of particular note, collectors will be able to PRE-ORDER (sound familiar? – as in JTA's exclusive Rumor Report about the ability to pre-order things this year?) the figures beginning on September 2nd. We expect to learn more so stick with JTA as we follow this story.

UPDATE: TBS6 Rogue One Figures - UPCs Revealed

Posted by Paul | August 22, 2016 at 11:59 AM ET |

In case these haven't been published anywhere yet, we have the UPC numbers for The Black Series [Phase III] Rogue One wave 1 figures. Click through for details. Special thanks once again to Earl Madriaga for the news.

UPDATE: A confidential source checked these UPCs in a TARGET computer and they ALL currently fall under DPCI 087-06-3953 (this is the DPCI currently on clearance). So unless something gets reset in time for Force Friday this year, it might be problematic. So much for that new SKU they gave the TBS6 line!

Amazon Confirms Egregious MSRP Of $279.99 For New AT-ACT Vehicle

Posted by Paul | August 19, 2016 at 10:36 AM ET |

Amazon has also listed the AT-ACT vehicle. Are you ready for this folks? A dumbed-down, Nerf-firing, shell of a vehicle and significantly smaller than 2010's SW [SOTDS] Imperial AT-AT vehicle which was $99.99 is listed with an MSRP at Amazon for $279.99. Guess who will be waiting for clearance on this one, Hasbro? (Answer: Everyone.)

More The Black Series pre-order links on Amazon! Many of these are still listed under code names, but you can still secure the pre-order by visiting the links below! A big thanks to JTA reader rivesjunctionite for digging these up! Get those pre-orders in while they are still at this price! Best guess as to the code names in brackets below, but obviously not confirmted until Amazon updates the titles...

UPDATE: JTA reader Hitchcock writes in with his own thoughts about the recent Amazon listings. Great stuff here and I wanted to add it to the article for further information/speculation! Click through to see what he has to say!

The instantly selling out Jyn Erso now shows "Coming Soon" at Hasbro Toy Shop. Could Hasbro actually be getting more stock?
