StarWars.com Asks What The Best Scene In The Force Awakens Is

Posted by Paul | June 22, 2016 at 10:11 AM EST |

StarWars.com has posted an article asking what the best scene in The Force Awakens is. Weigh in on your own opinions in our comments!

For our Canadian readers, The Black Series [Phase III] General Hux 6" figure is IN STOCK at Walmart.ca. Special thanks to JTA reader Adam G. for the alert! X-wing Pilot Asty is in stock too.

The "Silver Saga Edition" line of figures included the 2004 SDCC exclusive Sandtrooper figure. It looks pretty nice. Find out more in our Research Droids Reviews today. Be sure to leave your own thoughts in our comments section, vote in the poll or even leave comments about it on our Facebook page. Click the banner below for the direct link to the review! As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.

Sandtrooper

That's what this article claims at least. Screenrant.com is reporting that the canceled live action television Star Wars show would have focused on Emperor Palpatine's origin. It looks like Darth Plagueis was "this close" to being canon. Check out the full story here. Special thank to Paul B. for the alert!

Another Hong Kong Store Report: TRU/SDCC Astromech Set

Posted by Paul | June 21, 2016 at 09:03 AM EST |

No, we're not reporting a Furbacca find in Hong Kong. But JTA reader Chris G. is on business there and found the TRU/SDCC exclusive for sale. Check it out!

We have more images to share of the Toys R Us/SDCC exclusive Astromech Droid 3-pack. Yes it does look like a SDCC exclusive to us now as evidenced by the signage. For those interested in approximating what this may cost int he USA, JTA Filipino reader Jones M. lets us know that the exchange rate is roughly PHP46.00 to USD1.00. In this case, that means this would cost 108.69 in American dollars in the Philippines. We estimate it will be significantly cheaper than this in the USA (hopefully).

Do you remember when we broke the news of The Black Series 6" AT-AT Driver and Snowtrooper about a month before Toy Fair, a news report viewed by an astounding 27K+ collectors? In that list we mentioned an A New Hope version of Obi-Wan Kenobi, but Hasbro didn't reveal him at Toy Fair. We even pleaded with Hasbro on May the 4th to reveal him then as they seemed to be the only major license who didn't reveal something new and exciting. Well, our Research Droids are definitely on your side and they're willing to share the wealth with you. We've received "additional" confirmation that Obi-Wan Kenobi (ANH) is indeed coming and will LIKELY be part of a case of TBS6 figures including Sabine Wren, Snowtrooper, and AT-AT Driver. Our sources claim that they will be SHOCKED if Obi-Wan Kenobi is NOT part of this assortment. With Hasbro, please keep in mind that anything can change, but this is the latest update we have. It looks like we may finally see what he will look like at CE and/or SDCC this year.

Found! TBS6 Astromech 3-Pack Found At TRU In The Philippines

Posted by Paul | June 20, 2016 at 09:30 PM EST |

Found! JTA Facebook reader Jaeger Trooper Eityeiteity has found The Black Series [Phase III] Astromech 3-pack at his local Toys R Us in the Philippines. We have also received word from JTA reader Jones M. that he has received confirmation from his local collector group in the Philippines too! While rumors abound that this could be an SDCC exclusive, we aren't so sure of that. Hasbro said that the SDCC exclusive would be another "trooper" this year at Toy Fair. Time will tell however.

Algorithmic Pricing - The New Bane Of Collecting?

Posted by Paul | June 20, 2016 at 07:56 AM EST |

File this under "We don't set the retail price, retail does" response we get from Hasbro all of the time. Distribution woes, fewer products each calendar year. Disregard for 3.75" super-articulated figures. Now this (not that it's anything new). Walmart's algorithmic pricing is at it again. While not a huge gouge, TBS6 Ahsoka Tano is in stock for $27.27 (and sold by Walmart.com, we checked). This may be a perfect example of why maybe Big Box retail needs to be under some sort of contract with Hasbro and the way things get priced. Instances like this over time create frustration and burn out and downright animosity. These figures are EXPENSIVE enough at MSRP. They shouldn't be sold by a legitimate retailer for more than what Hasbro suggests.

It is so boring and bad right now that people on eBay are pre-selling upcoming TBS6 figures and are claiming that they're arriving June/July. This isn't so, folks. These figures are part of the Rogue One launch.Don't fall for it!

The Silver Anniversary Toys R Us exclusive R2-D2 is the only R2-D2 figure greatly affected by incorrectly assembled legs. Find out why in our Research Droids Reviews today. As always, you can also send your own personal review requests via email if you'd like to see something that we didn't cover yet.

Happy Father's Day To All Of Our Dads!

Posted by Paul | June 19, 2016 at 12:35 AM EST |

Jedi Temple Archives wishes all of our fathers a very happy Father's Day! In a world where your invaluable role can be minimized, diminished and even overlooked, we want you to know just how important you are in the raising and development of your children. Give yourself a few extra points if you use Star Wars as a part of that rearing too. Happy Father's Day! As a tribute, we're sharing an image drawn by a son of one of our readers. Click the image below for the full size and be sure to read the description below.

About the drawing: JTA reader Michael Osadciw's son made the above sketch for him for Father’s Day at school. His son explained to him what everything in the picture was so Michael thought it would be fun to share with the readers in our community by identifying them for us. Michael Osadciw can be found at http://www.michaelosadciw.com/.

Galactic Heroes First Order Snowspeeder And Snowtrooper Revealed

Posted by Paul | June 18, 2016 at 09:33 PM EST |

Our Research Droids have also just uncovered another new Galactic Heroes set: First Order Snowtrooper Commander with First Order Snowspeeder. Like the 3.75" version didn't shelf-rot enough? (Face. Palm.) Once again, we have NO IDEA when this set should be arriving to stores or online.

The Hero Series scaled Captain Phasma figure (which actually isn't a bad toy at all) has been found in New Zealand. JTA reader Andy M. has the full story that you're probably going to want to read especially if you live there (especially since this thing was going for big bucks because of its relative scarcity).
