Is There NOW Room For Concern? Production Luke Hits eBay :(

Posted by Paul | June 18, 2013 at 06:15 PM EDT |

Uh-oh. I am getting concerned now with the 6" The Black Series line. eBay seller viperskingdom has a production figure available of Luke Skywalker (X-wing Pilot) in his eBay store, but look closely at the figure. It's likeness is quite disappointing. And why did they paint his flesh tones instead of cast it in that color. Color me sad. It still may be too soon to be concerned, but this figure needs more work, especially for $20.

UPDATE: Darth Maul and R2-D2 are also listed. I don't know folks. I am really disappointed with the production figures.

The 3.75-inch Black Series is looming and new packaged shots are being released of the first wave of figures with Padme, Biggs, Luke, Vader, and more. But despite the eagerness of Star Wars collectors for new figures, fans are having a mixed reaction to the new packaging for these figures. On this week's Star Wars Action News podcast hosts Marjorie and Arnie are joined by their Marvelicious Toys co-host Justin, a graphic designer and packaging expert, to examine Hasbro's latest Star Wars designs. "Exclusive" The Black Series 6 Inch Wave 2 Greedo Reveal

Posted by Paul | June 17, 2013 at 03:18 PM EDT |

In typical Entertainment Earth fashion, they are milking their "exclusive" reveal of Greedo from wave 2 of the 6" The Black Series wave by showing a portion of its development over the next few weeks. Can they drag it out more? Unless you're completely asleep at the wheel, flyguy.net has already discovered these upcoming figures. So far, EE has shown the initial stages of Greedo's development. Click through if you're interested. To be fair, they do have a great image showing the analysis of Greedo that licensees use to bring the collectibles to life, a blue print of sorts.

Posted by Paul | June 17, 2013 at 09:01 AM EDT |

CAUTION: May Cause Eyes To Tear

Posted by Paul | June 15, 2013 at 03:49 PM EDT |

While this story makes me want to go into further denial, there may be a place for the shampoo bottles Hasbro now are calling 12" figures after all. Click through at your own risk! Thanks to JTA moderator Paul B. for the story.

One of the greatest things about having down time with Hasbro is catching up on older figures and finding them for fantastic prices. This about sums up JTA reader John B.'s experience. He got some great stuff for $30! Click through for more!

If You Liked It Then You Should Have Put A Ring On It....

Posted by Paul | June 14, 2013 at 02:56 PM EDT |

Here is something fun to look at that falls between stupid to very humorous. There is a flickr album that could easily be titled "Star Wars Karaoke", although the author of these antics also includes GI Joe and Lord Of The Rings figures too. Definitely worth checking out. TIP: Make sure you look at the song title at the bottom of the image post, otherwise, you won't have the melody in your head when you read the parodied lyrics!

We're not the only ones who have felt the wrath of the distribution Sith. Our French friends at ToyzMag.com are reporting that just now, for the very first time, they are getting the Starkiller/Shae Vizla wave (as well as a few others). Click through for their report!

Review: Holographic Qui-Gon Jinn - Mini Bust (Celebration Japan)

Posted by Paul | June 14, 2013 at 08:54 AM EDT |

If you only buy one holographic Mini Bust, buy this one. The Holographic Qui-Gon Jinn is actually not that bad. Too bad however he never appeared on film this way. Tamashi has just released what appears to be a teaser image of a S.H. Figuarts Yoda silhouette! If this is true, it is believed that if they do a line for Star Wars figures of their renowned quality that there will be little to no reason to ever purchase a Hasbro figure again. Click through to see the teaser!

UPDATE: Rebelscum.com is reporting that this series of figures is NOT in development. See their report here. (Tamashi updated their post to explain that it was a picture of someone's avatar and not a teaser image.)

Hologram Mini Busts are sort of a waste in our opinion. The Holographic Darth Maul, which was a Star Wars: The Exhibition (Brussels) exclusive, it neat, but not really necessary.
