My local target has just finished their action figure reset, and it is rather sorry. They had the new archive figures in stock (I let some sixer friends know). Unfortunately, the 3 pegs of Vintage Collection figures that were present before the reset are now relegated to just 1. Fellow Council of Collectors members, what can be done? Full Story
This topic seems to come up fairly frequently in a Facebook Group that I’m in, and has been the topic of recent conversation on some other collecting sites too, so I wanted to share my thoughts about articulation. These thoughts come from the last conversation I had on Facebook about it about a week ago.
Personally, I am all for super articulation, but I understand that sometimes it can get in the way of a good sculpt. In this article you’ll find the reasoning behind my desire to have Hasbro give all their figures full articulation, as well as some possible advice for future production of The Vintage Collection figures. Crazy that back in July the Mimban Stormtrooper TVC figure hit eBay, and since then, there has been only one store report from Australia that this figure has even touched retail pegs (and they don’t even have Walmarts). Yet, on the eBays, there are plenty available if you want to pay the price. If you’re wondering where on earth this figure is… It’s still in China since that’s where 135 of them has been sold from! Again: Hasbro, you are already killing us with the repacks, at least distribute the few good figures you choose to make!
Dang! This a shocker! I was expecting to find wave 2, and a friendly, competent Walmart employee (no joke) went to the back and located the case. Much to my surprise I found something quite different!
Sadly, it’s not as exciting as you think. Hoping to find wave 2, I searched the SKU on brickseek.com. Brickseek was right on the money with the number of figures that were in the store, but guess what? My local Walmart got a very nice, fresh, minty case of wave 1…
Hi Hasbro, here are some figures that I want made. Just so there is no question as to what figures people want made, I thought posting these photos may be of assistance. Readers, do you agree? Let us know in the comments!
Yes, you read that right. Wave 2 is barely showing up in stores in America and Europe and wave 3 is already showing up overseas! I’m sure we can expect to see these on eBay fairly soon… This does negate a previous rumor that the Praetorian Guard would be taking the place of the Range Trooper in this wave (thankfully false). Shout out to John P. and his friends who sent him these images!!
Finally! I’ve been trying to find a pre-order for these figures for a while, but all the sites I found were based in the UK. Your Toy Link has TVC wave 2 for pre-order in the US for $15 each
and free shipping No shipping charged until actually shipped (or you can choose a $5 deposit). They also have the Mimban Stormtrooper available to ship for $40 (less than eBay but still too much for my blood). They are scheduled for an 8/31 availability.
Much doom and gloom has been spilled in the last few days it seems. It’s sad to hear of people leaving the hobby because they couldn’t find a figure at the store. They have their reasons, but I have to ask myself, “Is it really all that bad?” There are several reasons why I don’t think things are as bad as some of the more pessimistic views make it sound. Here’s what I mean… Full Story

There. I’ve said it. The Vintage Collection needs a modern update of the vintage Kenner Rebel Transport. I dare you to disagree with me. (more….)
Or which is worse, the first wave of repacks or the wave of repacks that follow them? Our friends at banthaskull.com have posted an article citing sources that are reporting something different than a rumor we posted about a month ago. Click through for more…
Keep checking your local Walmart clearance aisle’s folks. I found the entire wave (bought the Hoth trooper) for $11. This is the first time I had seen the full wave at any Walmart in my area. I’ve seen other reports of people finding them for even less than $11 (no pics, sorry).
Solo was a great film. It was a fun movie to watch. One thing that it did very well was the dense and diverse population of each planet and cantina visited throughout the story. Here on JTA we discuss all things Star Wars, we argue about which action figure line is the best, we criticize Hasbro for repacks and at least some of us love to moan about the sequel trilogy.
But let’s talk about what we love: our Star Wars collection. We discuss action figures all day here on JTA – but we rarely get to see what you actually collect. So I thought it would be a good idea to create the opportunity to show everyone what you collect. (more…)
Here you go! The first question for The Vintage Collection Conversation is here!
