What We Learned About Project Luminous and the High Republic

So there was an “event” of sorts with a bunch of the authors involved in Project Luminous tonight and with very little fanfare. StarWars.com has shared some of the details regarding the High Republic and the new books. There is also a little video that pretty much sums up what it’s all about so take a look. But very quickly and to the point, the Jedi of this period are “like the knights of the round table” and the threat is coming from the borders of the republic with the main threat known as the Nihil (pronounced Nile) who are like space Vikings. What do the Jedi fear most? Losing the light! To see the video, some concept art, and a few new book covers be sure to click through!

Welcome to the High Republic!

As we wait for the first official news of Project Luminous tonight (supposedly), we got our first look at where we will be heading. Charles Soule, writer of many of the best modern Star Wars comics, will deliver his first full Star Wars novel The High Republic: Light of the Jedi. There are also some other as-of-yet untitled Project Luminous titles listed on the Random House site, but this cover has gotten me pretty excited. Hopefully, this announcement will give us some amazing new content to look forward to. As a fan of the comics and novels, I’m personally excited to read a Charles Soule novel about a completely new era in Star Wars history, but I am also anxious to see where this goes in film/tv. Are you looking forward to moving outside of the Skywalker Saga? Let us know!

The Skywalker Saga Blu-Ray Box Set Release Date!

This post contains affiliate links. At no additional cost to you, JTA may receive a commission if you click and make a purchase.

Walmart.com has listed the Skywalker Saga Blu-Ray Box set for $129.99 with 18-discs (which is one bonus disc per film) and the release date is set for April 17. I’m willing to bet that The Rise of Skywalker will likely release around that time (maybe a bit sooner to try and make people double-dip as Disney likes to do) as well as the Best Buy Skywalker Saga 4k Box Set. Now we’ll have to see if this new rumor of a second theatrical release with more footage a la Endgame comes at the end of January, but for now, we at least have a release date for the Box Set.

Another New Special Looks At The Rise Of Skywalker!

We have another new nostalgia-filled special look at The Rise of Skywalker, courtesy of Amazon, which contains a few new scenes and some old BTS footage of the Original Trilogy. There is one scene in there that was pretty nice to see concerning some old friends. While there are no serious spoilers beyond what has been shown in the trailers you may want to skip this one if you’ve been avoiding those. The video is actually a “secret” and you have to search #TheRiseOfSkywalker on Amazon or by telling Alexa “Alexa, The Force will be with you always, but here’s the link so you don’t have to do that. You’ve been warned, so click here to take a look!

That’s right! For a measly 12,200 points on DisneyMovieInsiders.com you can get a pair of tickets to The Rise of Skywalker world premiere in Hollywood on December 16th as week as attendance to the After Party! This is actually an INCREDIBLE deal and it’s pretty easy to come up with that many points if you know where to look. Not sure how many of these are available, but I’m sure they’ll go fast. Entertainment Weekly’s Star Wars issue is finally here and we’ve been given a look at eight new images as well as an article with bits of information from JJ and most of the cast of The Rise of Skywalker. Not much new information is revealed and it’s a safe read for those avoiding spoilery info, but it does finally shut down the question of which Death Star they’re on for good (despite the first Death Star wreckage being utilized by the people of Alderaan to build an artificial home of sorts some refused to accept it was the DSII). We also got a look at the three new covers for EW which span the three trilogies. Be sure to check out the images and the article!

The Gamestop Fallen Order Bundle Black Series Figure Revealed.

And it is….The Purge Trooper? That’s right. The mysterious figure from the “?” covered image on Gamestop’s website is actually just a Purge Trooper. Many speculated that since the Purge Trooper was already revealed as a Gamestop Exclusive that it wouldn’t make sense for it to be the mystery figure, but unfortunately I was told this wasn’t the case as the employee opened the box in front of me. The good news? Your local GameStop likely has a few in stock since the box my store opened contained 12 and only 2 were pre-orders. So if you need it, nows the time to hit up your GameStop! If you pre-ordered the bundle online and get a different figure, let us know. Now excuse me while I go off to play Fallen Order for 20 hours straight!

A Touching Article Written By Billie Lourd

I felt I had to share this with all of you since I’ve been seeing a lot of discussions around the web lately regarding the original plans for Episode IX to be “Leia’s Movie”. It’s just crazy to think (regardless of opinions on the Sequel Trilogy) that this will be the last time we see our original heroes in a new feature and I think Billie wrote a nice little piece about her Mother, her Princess, and OUR Princess. Click here to read her feature in TIME.

Here is the cover for issue #2 of the upcoming Marvel comic series, written by the amazing Charles Soule, The Rise of Kylo Ren. It will be a four-part mini-series covering the backstory of Kylo Ren and the Knights of Ren. This cover might already answer some questions. We know the Knights existed prior to Kylo, and now we see one of them has a lightsaber. Does that mean they ARE the Acolytes of the Beyond from Aftermath? Is it the same girl, Kiza, that was consumed by the Dark Side presence in her mask and was given a red lightsaber by Yupe Tashu? I’m just saying, it’s looking more and more likely! Hopefully, we get these answers and more from this series which I will be doing a review of when released. You can also pre-order issue 1 from Marvel here. So tell us, what does this cover say to you? Either way, I’m always happy to see Luke wield the green! Click through to read the solicit for the series which actually reveals a bit more important info!
