Bloomberg interviewed Bob Iger and Iger dropped a very important announcement for Star Wars fans:
“We will take a pause, some time, and reset, because the Skywalker saga comes to an end with this ninth movie. There will be other Stars Wars movies, but there will be a bit of a hiatus.”
According to Iger Star Wars will have its focus on the shows which will stream exclusively on Disney+ for a while at least.
And Iger also said this: “We have not announced any specific plans for movies thereafter. There are movies in development, but we have not announced them.”
You may now speculate what “resetting Star Wars means”. And we may all guess how long that hiatus will be. Two years? Three years? And what does that mean for Hasbro? Will they have the time now to fill in all the gaps? There are a ton of Disney era figures (mostly Rogue One and Solo) which should still be released, plus all the OT and PT figures we still need.
So, what do you think? Do you think it’s a good sign we won’t have new movies for a couple of years? Leave your thoughts in the comments! Thanks to JTA friend Steven U. for the alert!
