First Look! Walmart Exclusive TVC Jabba's Palace Adventure Playset!
With special thanks to JTA reader coreworld, we have a first look at the Walmart exclusive Jabbas Palace Adventure set. It looks fantastic. Sadly, Han Solo did not receive “photorealistic” technology. That is a huge disappointment, but he looks worlds better than the TBS [P2] release. Click the images below to check it out. I’ve just received the new Jabba diorama and wanted to share some thoughts and pictures. WOW! This is what we’ve been waiting for! The plastic is nice and sturdy, given the price point i was worried, (as it also includes two figures) that it would be poor quality, upon opening i found those concerns unjustified. It can be configured either with the doorways attached at the sides creating a long straight piece or as an alcove which gives a few display options (and also leaves connectors free to attach future pieces to…) Diorama builders are going to have a field day with this as the grates both above and below are open allowing lights to be shone from both directions to create some great lighting effects to the piece. The Carbonite block is attached magnetically and can be moved up and down (not too far) to mimic Leia’s rescue. The only downside is the included Han figure, where much nicer painted than the black series, is NOT the new face print tech, which was a slight disappointment. If this is the start of a modular release for Jabba’s palace, then I’m in it for the full run. A superb start from Hasbro and hopefully the dawn of a bright future for playsets in TVC!
