Clone Trooper Echo (CW17) - Hasbro - The Clone Wars [red] (2009)
Star Wars Collectible News, Photos, and Reviews

Random Thoughts Are Fun!

Hey! There are three spontaneous utterance posts we made over time that you will probably want to pay closer attention to now as we get closer to February (and beyond). Many include our “wish lists” for Hasbro while others are just suggestions of what figures would make the most sense for the 6″ line. POST #1 (from September 2017). POST #2 (from August 2017). POST #3 (original story from June 2015). Just saying.

What will paying closer attention do for me? Just asking.

    • For you? Nothing. For everyone else? The world.

      • Mark

Replying so quickly to your own articles really makes you look desperate. πŸ˜€

        • It’s a shame when I am trying to proofread the article that I already have a annoying comment in Disqus.

          • Mark

I will always be here for you for that.

          • Mark

Wait, you post and THEN proofread? That explains a lot.

      • Tom Chorlton

Looks like for me, it gets my hopes back up for Grievous!

  • Why do I get the feeling that this is going to affect me trying to save money for TVC in April? I thought we were in a lull until then… ugh. Bring it on, I guess.

  • ShipGirlLover

I would so be down on Padme, especially considering the Figuarts one is like $200 now.

But I feel Disney won’t let it be a bare midriff Padme πŸ™

The good General would be awesome, because Figuarts is going to make one and I don’t doubt it will be exclusive.

    • bmales01

bare midriff Padme with Nexu claw marks would be even more scandalous.

      • Mark

I love that uniform so much. And that scene. And her in that uniform in that scene.

        • bmales01

and this is why they cant make Slave Leia and figures like this anymore πŸ™‚

          • Funtomaz

SHF did her in 2017, though. The shirt is torn, bare midriff, claw marks on her back (but there’s no blood or so, just the claw marks in the shirt). But if you didn’t pre-order her you’ll have to pay a lot of money now.

          • Paul

            Between $130 and $ 150 last time I checked.

          • ShipGirlLover

Last I saw on Ebay they were $200.

          • Paul

woo doggie that’s a lotta credits

          • ShipGirlLover

Sadly. Although I suspect in Figuarts they can, as KK probably doesn’t pay as much attention there, and Japan doesn’t care about dexy.

          • bmales01

considering Japan’s has Sailor Moon and the like, this is nothing

      • Kinetic_Koala

It wasn’t until a few years ago that I actually began to wonder how the Nexu’s claw strike conveniently struck off the midriff and sleeve to her shirt and left her in that “sexy” outfit. I’m sure George just took out a giant “OK” stamp on the design and did it for the lolz.

        • bmales01

I thought the convenient midriff was very NON-subtle

          • Rivesjunctionite

That was the first thing I thought when I saw that scene. “Oh right, the claws just happen to cut her top down to a sports bra. How convenient.”

          • Tom Chorlton

Attack of the Clones – definitely the most SUBTLE of the Star Wars movies. “I killed them all! Not just the men, but the women and the children too!!!!” Lord.

      • darthmo

The White bare midriff Padme ensemble; the Slave outfit of the AOTC generation…

    • Caleb Amos

Figuarts already does make the bandai grievous model.

  • Funtomaz

These are very fun random thoughts. πŸ™‚

    However….. (there’s always a rub somehow)

There’s a fantastic Bandai Model Kit Grievous
There’s a fantastic SHF Mace Windu
There’s a fantastic SHF Padme in Action Outfit
    There’s a fantastic SHF Ep I Obi-Wan

Hasbro will have a hard time convincing me to buy any of their offerings. Since the SHF come with extra heads, extra hands and use much better plastics, also they are all standing on my desk already.

But I am happy for everyone else who doesn’t have any of the Bandai offerings, they finally see some more prequel love in the 6 inch series. And Darth Maul, Qui-Gon and Jango Fett have some more characters to play with. I am all for more prequel characters in the Black Series. These movies had great production and character design.

Hasbro: I’d buy the yellow speeder from the Coruscant chase in Ep II in an instant! πŸ™‚

Character wish list for the future:
    Zam Wesell
Dooku (though SHF will offer one too)
Jar Jar (he could be a really great figure)
    Kit Fisto
    Aurra Sing
    Shaak Ti
    Ki-Adi-Mundi

I would basically buy any character from the prequels πŸ˜€ Much more enthusiasm for those than for virtually any of the sequel trilogy characters/designs.

    • Huge favor? Please tell me where I can find a well-organized list of all SH Figuarts released to date? I lost track. If the list has release dates of products, that would be eve better.

      • Funtomaz

        I sent you an email!

      • Caleb Amos

The DorkLair podcast group on FB has a Google sheets document that has them all listed including upcoming ones too. I just left that group cause I don’t really listen to the podcast otherwise I would have emailed you the link….

        • Kinetic_Koala

I had heard that Maul had seen an exclusive re-release, is that true? I’ve been wanting that figure for a long time already but I’m beginning to suspect that all the chances I had are up.

          • matt

Yeah, they re-released him as they’re doing Maul’s Sith Speeder.

          • Funtomaz

On Nin Nin Game it says the figure will be available again soon (out of stock for now). You might want to check a few of the Japanese etailers every day and order him the second he’s available.

          • Caleb Amos

He did, in fact I have it πŸ™‚ you can still get it on Amazon US for like $80 last I checked. But he’ll probably go up soon. I’m not very familiar with foreign sites that people buy figuarts from.

          • bnicks87

Yes they did, I managed to get him this time around. I think they re-released him because they are making is speeder later this year,

    • matt

SH Figuarts Prequel characters are where it’s at! Love every figure I have in that line.
Very much looking forward to the Count Dooku that was recently solicited also.
They also announced TPM Queen Amidala, AOTC C-3PO, Anakin Ep 3, Obi-Wan Ep 3, and the Super Battle Droid.
From the OT they’ve announced Princess Leia, Old Ben Kenobi, and they’ve recently released a new Vader

Great time to be a prequel fan.
(Since the ST came out, all of the basement dwellers who have hated all things Star Wars since Empire have given Prequel fans like me a break and have directed their sad, misguided bile towards the new generation.)

      • Funtomaz

Can you believe that next year will see the 20th anniversary of TPM? :-O
I wonder if Hasbro will be doing something for that event. Or if it’s an event at all.
At least we know that SHF has plans for the prequels. Maybe Hasbro is gearing up now for 2019.

        • Fercho

It is already 20 for POTF2 collection. Say no more.

        • bmales01

          we old

        • matt

I know, I’ll be 28. Phantom Menace was my childhood Star Wars πŸ˜€

Let’s hope so! I think Figuarts definitely are, as the Prequels were huge in Japan.

        • Tom Chorlton

Pretty unlikely. Lucasfilm tried to make an event of the 3d rerelease, and it’s failure killed the 3d releases of the others, and helped Lucas decide to just sell it to Disney. I’m a sucker for it, so went and saw it in Manhattan. I was one of four people in the theatre.

          • bmales01

There’s some good news. Yazflow has all those unsellable 3-D TPM fig on TVC cardback. They could just roll those out again.

          • Rivesjunctionite

Oh crap, my local WM still has a TPM3D Ric Olie. No need to even re-issue them in my case.

          • bmales01

and you thought Yazflow wasnt forward-thinking

  • bmales01

Goofy and Pluto are both dogs. Yet one is human-like and the other is a pet. I never understood that.

Oh wait, you meant Star Wars-related random thoughts.

    • Mark
      • bmales01

I always thought Goofy was a dog.

        • JohnMorog

he is… Just an upright dog.

          • bmales01

and there in lies my question

          • Somebody should preserve this sub-thread before Paul deletes it.

        • Rogue 13

He started life as Dippy Dawg, so I guess dog is as good a label as any. The real question is just what the heck is Gonzo from the Muppets?

          • bmales01

I am pretty sure the movies determined he was an alien and there are a whole planet of Gonzos

          • Rivesjunctionite

            Muppets from Space.
That movie made me really, really miss Jim Henson.

      • Mike_5555

The first thing I thought of too lol.

    • Rivesjunctionite

Goofy wears pants. Dogs that wear pants get to act like humans.

      • bmales01

So if we puts pants on Pluto, he will immediately talk?

        • Rivesjunctionite

Yes. You can try this at home with your cat, dog, or hamster.
Obviously, pet snakes are excluded, since they don’t have legs and hence cannot wear pants.

          • Jimmy Griffin

What if I try to put a sarong on my snake?

          • Rivesjunctionite

They’ll begin singing the score to “King and I.”

          • JohnMorog

            or a willie warmer?

          • Jimmy Griffin
          • bmales01

I always wondered if Zap was wearing flesh-colored pants

          • JohnMorog

            lol

Any Futurama gif gets an automatic upvote

lol so funny! and of course don’t forget who’s wearing the trousers at home !

          • JohnMorog
          • Hazzbro Jonez

            hahahaahha
was waiting for this or some variation. great job!

or “came here for this, did not disappoint”

          • Rivesjunctionite

The second one. They would be a lot more civil, I’m sure.

          • bmales01

did you take the time to mock this up or is this a legitimate question the internet has?

          • JohnMorog

haha, I did not make it, I only knew it existed. It was a meme for a while of different random objects wearing pants.

          • bmales01

            somehow, that’s even sadder

          • JohnMorog

http ://know your meme. [COPY THE LINK] com/ memes/if-a-dog-wore-pants
Hopefully my trickery will get my link through the screen….

          • bmales01

it did work and the power of internet is wasted on things like this πŸ™‚

          • JohnMorog

This IS the power of the internet!! πŸ˜‰

          • bmales01

and this is why if aliens do make contact with our planet, they’ll immediately see no signs of intelligent life and leave

          • Mike_5555

So that’s why Mulder can never find them!

          • Jimmy Griffin

It’s too bad this doesn’t also work with infants. A lot of crying and whining (on both sides) could have been avoided.

          • JohnMorog

Gosh, I have a 3 month old right now, so that would be great.

          • bmales01

            my condolences πŸ™‚

          • JohnMorog

Mostly it’s cause the poor little guy is sick right now πŸ™ He’s actually a really good baby and let’s us sleep!

          • bmales01

sorry to hear. hope he gets better

and as for the sleeping. you stink. my 5 year old had a nightmare and woke us up last night

          • JohnMorog

            Thanks!
Oh no! That’s no fun… But yes, I have lots of people tell me we stink haha. And I take a shower every day…

          • bmales01

yes, in parenthood, misery loves company

          • bmales01

My question was a genuine concern. This is just silly

      • Fercho

What about ducks? Donald does not wear any pants and still act like human.

        • bmales01

          good point!

Rivesjunctionite theory has holes. although he did say “dog”. but I refuse to believe this theory is species specific

          • Rivesjunctionite

Oh, check out the big scientist! Dismissing a legitimate theory without even doing an experiment.
Put some pants on your dog. He’ll thank you.

          • bmales01

But I’d have to get enough dogs to power the experiment. I’d need a control group that gets placebo pants. I’d need to get someone else to administer the pants, because I am not blinded. Its a whole expensive production

          • Rivesjunctionite

            Touche

        • Jimmy Griffin

You’re overcomplicating it. Donald Duck doesn’t wear pants for the simple fact that he is a pervert.

          • bmales01

Donald’s original design had him in a trenchcoat

          • Jimmy Griffin

            There you go.

          • Funtomaz

So why does Chewie wear no pants?

          • Fercho

            lol OMG

          • bmales01

You’ve all perverted a very imperative question that has been plaguing me for decades

          • Jimmy Griffin

            (stunned silence)

          • bmales01

            Kashyyyk is a nudist planet

          • Fercho

That wouldn’t explain his red robes on the Holiday SpeNEVER MIND

          • bmales01

Its conversations like this that explain why we all didnt date in highschool πŸ™‚

          • Rivesjunctionite

            How did you know?

          • bmales01

you’re not the only one with serious prognostication skills

          • JohnMorog

            hahahahahahahahaha

        • Rivesjunctionite

It doesn’t apply to birds. In birds, you have to wear a shirt or jacket. Also a hat will do it. Obviously.

    • Darth Lumberg

Goofy says Garsh when he gets confused

      • Rivesjunctionite

        He’s related to Gomer Pyle.

        • JohnMorog

My condolences to Goofy πŸ™ RIP Gomer Pyle.

  • Andrew

I’m ready for a nice Grievous figure, but I suspect he’ll end up being something like a Gamestop exclusive with a high price tag.

    • Funtomaz

He’s a tall character, lots of engineering is needed. I suppose he’ll be a deluxe set? Also, Hasbro MUST use sturdy plastics, not the variety they used for IG-88.

      • Andrew

He was clearly never going to be a $20 figure due to his size and articulation requirements — I’m just hoping he’s closer to $30 than $50. Getting him to stand will be crucial (and potentially difficult). The Disney Elite Series version has notoriously poor joints and trouble staying upright.

        • Funtomaz

They also must find a way to implement his split arms. Or maybe they’ll only give us the split arms?

The model kit gives you two alternate sets of arms, even Bandai didn’t manage to engineer one set of arms that can split in the middle and still look good.

    • Paul

The way they asked about Grievous in the star Wars survey last year practially guarantees this.

Granted if they pack him with all the accessories he should come with I’ll pay that higher price galdly

  • zerobobby77

A surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one.

  • mic windu

What about TVC there must be some rumours of characters for the line?

  • Rivesjunctionite

The third post is about TBS3.75 Luke? Or did I miss something?

    • zerobobby77

It’s about the Luke and TBS6 Grievous

      • Rivesjunctionite

Oh, missed that. I thought it was about the Leia bush from the comments.
TBS6 Grievous better ROCK. Like $40 rock. Like exclusive or centerpiece rock.

        • zerobobby77

yeah. it better be a definitive figure, not like the first TBS6 Vader.

    • Caleb Amos

      Grievous

  • MACharger

Love the clues / keeping it fun! Prequel 6″ figures on the way?

  • ExarKun777

We need a Mace ‘Take a sit madafaka’ Windu figure in both scales please..

    • Mike_5555

Only if that’s the name on the packaging

    • shane

      I’d buy it

  • Paul

Based on these rumor reports I’m happy to see a real and earnest effort to backfill demanded characters in the Black Series. I’m hoping this continues with any waves that come out after the Solo focus waves and September 2019, when we will most likely get the next Force Friday for Ep9. Granted I know in addition to the rumored figures linked in this article that we’re getting Jabba’s palace Lando, Tarkin, Rebel Fleet Trooper, Dengar, and 4-Lom, and I know Bespin Han was rumored in the same article that rumored Dengar and 4-Lom, but there’s still a lot of characters and versions of characters they can do to allow us to fill out our 6″ collections.

Overall I hope they just don’t let the line lay fallow after Solo is donB due to the worry that product won’t move without a movie on the immediate horizon .

  • RumSleg

If we’re going to hear more about prequel figures in February (aka Toy Fair), that means a fall release, at the earliest. I certainly wouldn’t expect a release any sooner, what with Last Jedi and Solo figures to be sold immediately.

    • Funtomaz

For the first time in the Disney era we’ll have some time after the Solo movie, a full 18 months. And figures for Ep IX are not due until September 2019. This will give Hasbro some time to focus on other movies, six or nine months, if not a full year.

      • Kinetic_Koala

Really hoping that this is actually the case. The neglect that the PT has gotten so far in the TBS6 line is outrageous.

        • matt

Agreed, thankfully SH Figuarts have stepped up to the mark

        • darthmo

I would love a retooled Dooku in both scales.

      • Rivesjunctionite

I’m curious about what we’ll get for Christmas this year. No movie support, and Rebels will be done.
Unless they launch a new animated series to replace Rebels? That would make a lot of sense.

        • JohnMorog

They are making a new live action series… Maybe that will be about to start?

Or they’ll take a break and let things catch up!

          • Rivesjunctionite

I thought that was on the Disney steaming channel. I doubt they’re ready to go with that just yet.

  • Darth Your Mom

Grevious is a must, maybe Mace, the rest hard pass.

    • Fercho

      I’m still missing TVC Grievous

  • RumSleg

Random thought: what did Kylo Ren go to the dark side FOR? To what end? Anakin went to save Padme. Luke almost went to protect Leia and his friends. Kylo: TBD.

    • Fercho

To finish what Vader started…. still, not sure what…. (?)

    • Funtomaz

My guess: daddy and mommy issues. Kylo probably felt abandoned by his parents. He was sent to some remote Jedi boarding school, he felt lonely. Snoke crept into his mind, convincing him that his parents hate him, are afraid of him because of his powers, that Luke hates him because he has more talent, something like that.

    • I respect your intelligent brain, so I want to discuss this with you. Do you really think saving Padme was his turn to the dark side? I thought Attack Of The Clones clearly showed us that his path to darkness began first with his pride (unwilling to relent to Obi-Wan’s teachings and assessment of him) as well as the death of his mother (which is not only evident, but “heartbreaking-ly” believable. I think he had backslid to a point of no return by the end of that film. And that ultimately came to pass by the events in Episode III. BUt I truly believe he was at the point of no return by the end of Episode II> You saw him completely disobeying Obi-Wan at every take.

      • Padme was probably his justification for it, but after the Jedi attacked Palpatine, Anakin completely went off the rails, and sealed his fate.

      • matt

To me, it was his fear of death. There’s a great video on YouTube about the psychology of Vader and his fear of death.

The Jedi, like Obi Wan and Yoda, accepted that they were going to die and “rejoiced for those who transformed into the Force” ,and when both died they were prepared, ready, and at peace.

In contrast, Anakin said in Attack of the Clones that “I will be the most powerful Jedi ever. I will even learn to stop people from dying” after his mother died.
He blamed himself for being not strong enough to save her.

This was then the lure used by Darth Sidious with his “Tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise” and his claim to save others from death. Particularly after Anakin had premonitions about the death of his secret wife, Padme.

Yoda, in Ep. 3 said that “fear of loss is a path to the Dark Side”, his advice to a confused Anakin was that he; “must learn to let go of everything you fear to lose.”

Only was he accepted death as a reality did Vader become a Jedi and return to the Light, by sacrificing himself to save his son, Luke out of selfless love, rather than possessive love (like Padme and his mother).
Ironically it was only through his acceptance of death that he was able to preserve his consciousness after death and become a force ghost.

        • Mike_5555

          Great post!

      • JohnMorog

I think TCW really outlines a lot more of what made Anakin turn, too. I think Ahsoka’s trial had a big impact on his attitude in Ep3 of him not having any trust for the Jedi council.

        • Mike_5555

Absolutely. One of the many reasons I love TCW. It makes his fall to the darkside and his distrust of Jedi Council a lot more believable.

          • shane

It makes the entire PT a better place

      • ExarKun777

I think that he still had a chance to make the correct choice when he is thinking what to do in the Jedi Temple in Ep III (just after Mace leaves with the other masters to confront Sidious), a small chance of course but still a chance. I’ll always think that at the end he’s actions are the ones that have more weight to move the balance in the history, since it’s his history the one being told. This is just my perception of course, I like your explanation too.

      • RumSleg

In broader terms, you are right that a lot of things led Anakin down the dark path, including his pride and his mother’s death and his fear of loss and the fact that he was “too old to begin the training”. It’s interesting to ponder whether Anakin might have gone to the dark side no matter what, for one or many reasons.

I forget whether or how much of the Clone Wars TV series you’ve seen. There’s a lot more development in Anakin’s charcter shown in that series, of course, and quite a bit that’s relevant to his falling to the dark side.

In very specific terms, the fear of losing Padme is the cause of him becoming Palpatine’s apprentice and pledging himself to the Sith teachings. If he had been a little less scared of losing Padme, I think he would have obeyed Mace Windu’s instructions and stayed at the Jedi Temple, or not cut Windu’s hand off. Either way, then Windu would have killed Palpatine, Palpatine’s dark influence over Anakin would have been gone, and it’s an open question when or whether Anakin would have ever fallen after that.

        • I think we are ultimately agreeing. But if you think of his fall as exponential growth, or even a Fibonacci sequence, it was all coming to a head very rapidly at the end (right before the declaration of the Empire). His fear of losing Padme was probably the straw that broke the came;s back, but I show his failures much earlier on and I like to believe in my head that they were responsible or the catalyst for his ultimate fall.

          • RumSleg

You seem to agree with Yoda’s belief that “once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.” I would like to believe that if Anakin had avoided falling in that moment, he might never have fallen to the dark side. He probably would still have struggled with it his whole life, and maybe he would have left the Jedi Order like Ahsoka did, but I like to imagine that he had a chance to avoid the complete fall. πŸ™‚

Well at least your talking about a better movie

    • Because Kylo had a helmet fetish?

      • RumSleg

πŸ™‚ Grrrr. And neither is a consistent characterization of Han or Luke, apparently. πŸ™‚

      • Mike_5555

Okay, that made me laugh. πŸ™‚

    • ExarKun777

Good question! What’s the point about Kylo hehe? What are their motivations? Just kill the past?. Regarding Anakin: Have you read the novelization of Episode III (written by Matthew Stover)? It’s a great book that expands about what all the characters in Episode III are thinking. There the author explains that one of the force abilities used by Mace Windu is to find the shatterpoint of every person or situation, and that once he finds it it is easier to solve the situation. He was centered too much in finding Sidious’ shatterpoint that never thought to checek Anakin’s shatterpoint (Padme): “Ineed himalive!” Skywalker shouted. “I need him to savePadme!” ” Mace thought blankly,Why? And moved his lightsabertoward the fallen Chancellor.” “He had been so intent on Palpatine’s shatterpoint that he’dnever thought to look for Anakin’s”.

      • RumSleg

I have read the ROTS novelization, but it was probably 12 or 13 years ago. πŸ™‚ I remember the shatterpoints! In that moment, Padme was absolutely why Anakin flipped. Like I responded to Paul, maybe he still would have fallen to the dark side for one reason or another later on. But maybe if he’d overcome himself in that moment…

    • Super Amigo

      It’s a mystery box.
      Yipeeee!!!
      What a master writer.
How sh&#ttier can the new trilogy’s story get?

      • Matthew Cohen

You’re kidding right? We didn’t know why Vader went dark for what, 20 years lol?

        • Super Amigo

We never needed to know why Vader turned to enjoy the story. It was a self contained story with no previous movies, novels or anything.

What if there was a movie about a hero named Anakin, and then came EpIV? Then we need to know.

TFA is not only a copycat of EpIV, it’s also a prime example of mystery box writing, and a bad example at that.

Kylo is not a self contained character like Vader was in EpIV. He is the son of two well established hero characters.

Mystery box writing is the new cancer of storytelling. The story IS the mystery, there’s no real ending, no real answer. You have Snoke’s mystery box: there was nothing in there. Rey’s parents? Empty box. It’s a marketing ploy, not a writing style. It’s also a crutch for lousy writers, like the ones that are handling Star Wars right now. If for Ep 9 they invent some back story for the characters you can be sure it’s just an afterthought to counter the general criticism.

          • darthmo

Interesting thoughts on the mystery box writing concept. I may look into this more….

    • max rebo

what Funtomaz said + Snoke temptation through classic promises of power (granted, not much detailed) but mainly in relation to the figure of Luke which had become overwhelming by its legendary stature, amplified by the fact Luke was focused on passing on his strengths while some of the biggest lessons he could have had for Ben was in regards to failure (as showcased by Yoda’s scene). Since it wasn’t passed on, Ben was left with the sensation of these big steps to follow, thus he drifted toward the easy path- yet interestingly still dealing with this this in the dark side through his macabre obsession for grand daddy. I think it makes sense, hope it will provide an answer

    • Matthew Cohen

We only learned about Vader 20 years later..

      • RumSleg

That’s true and a fair point. And I guess Kylo’s story will be probably be filled in sooner than 20 years. I would also push back and say it’s not exactly a fair comparison. Why Vader went bad didn’t really matter for the OT story (although I would argue knowing the background enhances the story), and the only thing we learned about Vader’s fall was that Obi-Wan and Yoda didn’t do the best job training him, long ago. In Kylo’s case, we already know his parents and his uncle and we know he probably had a pretty privileged life. Also, his fall was recent, and he was still falling over the course of TFA and TLJ, trying to kill the past and struggling with the pull towards the light. So not knowing Kylo’s tragic flaw feels like a bigger hole than not knowing Vader’s in 1983.

        • Matthew Cohen

But what does KNOWING the details of his fall (which we have vague enough details that we can form an educated guess about. Which is also more than we had with Vader) do for the story besides enhance it like it does with Vader?

We have enough of a sense of him without every concrete detail filled in. More so than we did with Vader. I wanna know because it’ll be interesting. But I don’t feel like I have no understanding of him as a person. Far from it.

We’re also not even done with the story. We can’t complain we don’t know the end and all of the details when we’re literally in the middle.

          • RumSleg

I partially want to know just because I’m an obsessive fan that has gotten used to knowing everything there is to know since 2005. πŸ™‚

The other real reason I’m so driven to find out is because of how Kylo’s fall relates to Luke’s story. Luke failed Kylo, and it led to years of wallowing in guilt and his determination that the Jedi had to end. So Luke’s story won’t feel complete to me until I better understand how Kylo fell. (And, to be honest, if Kylo didn’t fall for some compelling reason, but just because he’s kind of a power mad guy who idolizes Vader, I think that would kind of cheapen Luke’s feelings of failure. Why is Luke so hard on himself if Kylo is just kind of a d!ck?)

  • mechabug

I want Guybrush Threepwood and G.P. LeChuck action figures. Preferably from both 1 & 2.

    • matt

Love it! Guybrush Threepwood was an Easter Egg in the Force Unleashed game πŸ˜‰

  • Rogue 13

The only Grevious I have that never toppled over was the animated Clone Wars version, so I hope this still-a-rumor-until-I-own-it one is sturdy. Any Padme would be very welcome indeed, as would an EpI Obi-Wan.

    • Fercho

Can you imagine a Theed Queen Amidala (Red gown) in a magnificent TVC cardback? I’m dreaming about that.

    • Mike_5555

I’m not really a collector of the 6″ line, but Pamde is long overdue. More prequels characters are great additions to the line as well.

  • DustinW

Glad to see the prequels getting some love, I think following the massive success of the 40th anniversary run Hasbro has it in mind to do something similar with the 20th anniversary of the prequels. Time to grt the figures out now for maximum double dipping on Hasbro’s part.

    • Tony Harmon

Hmm . . . so should anniversary Prequel characters be on super sized OT Vintage cards or 1999 Cards?

  • ctwins3688

This is great news, but where are the 6” battle droids???

    • There’s always a but. LOL.

      • ctwins3688

Haha always. Didn’t you mention a 6 inch battle droid at some point though?

    • ShipGirlLover

      Figuarts have awesome ones

      • ctwins3688

Thanks- I’ve been trying to keep my collection limited to TBS6, but I might have to make an exception in this case

  • Tom Chorlton

I sure would love a Grievous figure! Yes indeed! Young Obi Wan, Mace Windu, and Padme too! Hot dog!

  • MaarekStele

Well that is a big load of disappointment. A bunch of sixer stuff and PT at that. Maybe for the 50th Hasbro will finally do something for 3.75” fans.

    • Matthew Cohen

You guys are getting the VC back. 6 inch is full steam ahead in the mean time

  • DarthCanabis

Finally some new figures that aren’t from the new movies

  • ShipGirlLover

They pretty much have to do Zuckuss this year then, right? And maybe re-release IG-88 m

  • Darth Malous

Are saving UPCs a thing of the past? Does Hasbro or Disney ever have any mail-away offers anymore? I have so many because mail-always were so prevalent when I was a kid but after collecting a shoe box full I’m wondering if they would be better served by just recycling them.

  • Has Been Kenobi

It’s about time Hasbro got back to prequel figures πŸ™‚

  • bnicks87
  • HemDazon

All of those figures would be fantastic. Although I’m not a big fan of the PT, I would love to see more characters in 6″ form.
Even better since Hasbro now is using the new face printing technique, which makes those figures look amazing.
I wish they would produce Count Dooku, Supreme Chancellor Palaptine (Office Duel), Aayla Secura, Plo Koon, Kit Fisto, Aurra Sing, AOTC Obi-Wan Kenobi, an AT-RT Driver, Battle Droids and maybe even an Geonosian Warrior.

  • Andrew Guiberson

YES! Bring on the Prequels! Bring on the Jedi of Geonosis! This is my generation’s Star Wars! I have the same love for Kit Fisto and Shaak Ti that older fans have for Walrus Man and Bib Fortuna.

(Also can I get a Starkiller or nah?)

Who wants to see Rey in a slave outfit ?
Who thinks Padme is better than Rey ?
