Toys R Us Exclusive Force Link Set Found In Northern NJ

JTA reader Eric W. has located the Toys R Us exclusive Force Link set at his local store in Totowa NJ. He aid there were a ton of them there.

I’d kind of expect pileups with this…the regular starter set doesn’t seem to move too quickly at any store…price point might keep people away, coupled with not exactly knowing what it is. Force Link is cool, but at this point many people who want the wristband already have it. I have the SA Executioner…so another thing against this set, I guess!

Both Force Link sets were likely overproduced, but the holidays may thin out the stock. Still no way I’d pick it up at full price though, but I expect both will hit clearance eventually.

  • Stereotypical Evil Archer

    Worth every cent of $12.

      I’d drop $20, but no way I’d spend $35.

Shame they didn’t put more effort into the guard. For an exclusive, they should have altered the legs at least, similar to the TFA unmasked Kylo, with a new stance that allows a leg to be visible.

I’m surprised at how well that Force Link gauntlet thing works once you figure it out. I also like this Executioner’s laser axe more than the BS one – you can remove the laser effects. I really didn’t mind shelling out $30 for it (I had a $5 reward) AND it was B1G1 40% off, so I got the Forces or Destiny Rey and BB-8 for my daughter for $14. Win win.

My store don’t have any, but I have a $10 off Hasbro coupon I plan to use on this, hopefully they’ll come in later this week (and the sale still on )

      • Will they accept it on that set? I doubt they would, but give it a shot and let us know.

Its a coupon direct from Hasbro (for any Hasbro product) for a mess up on their part for something, I got 2 of them and used one today on the FO 2 pack, with another Rey with the BOGO 40% off, so out the door with tax $55.

          • Ah, OK thanks. The coupon I had came from a cereal box and it specifically said it had to be the Force Link Starter Set.

You can actually remove the lasers on the BS one! You can slide them off and the axe can fold.

I just saw this today at TRU. They had loads of them too. They have a display of an active one that you can hold compatible figures up to. My son tried a few figures, but just shrugged. I was trying to find that new R2 but no luck there. They are still loaded down with TFA figures at full price. They had the TLJ Poe x-wing but that got a yawn from both of us.

Is the helmet on the praetorian guard the same as the SA version?

  • Suppose I shouldn’t be surprised but the batteries on this thing really wear off quickly. I dug out my ole Commcrap reader and replaced it’s the same time as the Reader and it’s still going strong while this one has burnt out. Not the batteries either since they were brand new.

  • Saw it at Toys R Us yesterday. Wasn’t impressed. I was a little annoyed that the Stormtrooper comes with the blaster pistol, which TBS 3.75″ version didn’t even come with.

The TRU in Watchung NJ had them too if anyone in that area wants them. They also had the Rey Crait figure.
