Is He Or Isn't He In The Last Jedi?

There’s an awful lot of Yoda merchandise showing up in The Last Jedi line look packaging isn’t there? Between this latest store find and the rumor report of ours which alluded that you should be seeing Yoda and Obi-Wan Kenobi merchandise in the toy line (as well as Yakface.com breached action figure assortments), it seems more and more that somehow, somewhere Yoda will make a cameo in some way. Then again, he may not at all. It should be interesting to see what happens, huh? Special thanks to Crime Sweeper for this store report.

Does this have anything to do with the Obi-Wan/Yoda story you keep teasing us with?

I’d be more excited if he made a return if they went back to the Empire puppet or even the Jedi one but Oz has made it pretty clear he’s retired from puppeteering and prefers the CG model.

A shame since I always wanted to see what a spirit puppet like him would look like in the ST even back in the 80’s.

  • Keith Maurer

I don’t think it is Yoda. Looks more like his brother Yogert. Looks more like Mel Brooks in Spaceballs.

Spaceballs had a more original story than TFA. 🙂

Frank Oz was seen in England getting off a Plane at the Airport when VIII was shooting. Not hard to figure our what he was doing there since he had no public appearances anywhere during his time there.

I was in North Carolina last week, does that mean I’m the big foot that was spotted there around the same time?

      • Hazzbro Jonez

        isn’t NC Gravedigger country??? lol

        • Danny

just googled gravedigger and I guess it is lol. Did you know, there are 9 different monster trucks/drivers allowing them to make more appearances at different events? They are based in Kill Devil Hills, NC; no where near where I was though.

hahahahah whoa. no i did not no that, that’s one way to keep the lights on

yea i pass some gravedigger ride thing when i venture from Southerns VA down to the Outer Banks, NC

    Hooray for porgs! 😀

  • Josuethefanboy_7

There’s also a whole lot of Boba Fett merchandise too with the new merch coming out from Lego and Hasbro. ???

  • I’m not sure this has to do with TLJ in anyway other than the logo. He’s holding his Lightsaber which *Spoiler Alert* has been destroyed by Mas Ammeda in the first issue of the new canon Vader comic. Although, that doesn’t mean that he wont be in the movie in some capacity. I just don’t think this little plush has anything to do with TLJ.

I would not be surprised in the least if Yoda appears in the film.

    • CT-7567

      I kinda like them.

      • I think they’ll be a good little comic relief character/s. If they don’t eventually package a chewbacca or R2 figure with a porg, they definitely missed a great opportunity

        • CT-7567

Agreed. Do you avoid spoilers? There’s already a figure that comes with a Porg on FF. I assume you already know this, by I don’t want to say just in case you’re avoiding such information.

  • CJ

Remember 2 years ago when everyone insisted Vader was in TFA because there was a figure of him in the basic line? Also, wasn’t there a big electronic Yoda released for that movie? Maybe licensees just like Yoda.

    • Seb

Both Vader and Ep.5 Luke were supposed to appear in Rey’s “forceback” where she would see their fight on Cloud City

  • Hazzbro Jonez

it looks like a muppetized version of a muppet if that’s even possible or makes sense

  • DarthTaco

No more jedis is bad for business

  • Paul

Both he and obi wan have been rumored to be in this film in some fashion for awhile now.

    • CT-7567

The Obi-Wan figure is supposed to be from ANH per Yakface ‘s report.

      • Paul

  • Funtomaz

Would be nice to see a Force ghost Yoda. He can tell Kylo to go to his room and that he won’t get dessert for the next 35 years or so! 😀
All joking aside, I’d like to see a few more OT characters in TLJ.

  • Mike Robinson

This reminds me of the 2-pack with Luke in Bespin Fatigues and Darth Vader in the TFA line-up, because originally they planned on using footage from ESB as part of Rey’s flashback, then decided not to use it.

    • CadeSky

They were single carded, but yeah, that was a mystery for awhile, wasn’t it?

  • Rivesjunctionite

People were saying the same thing about that Vader in the first TFA assortment. “Vader”s gonna cameo in TFA!” They’re just popular characters, and they fill out toy assortments.

    • CT-7567

Agreed. However Vader almost had a brief cameo in TFA during Rey’s vision.

  • You have no idea how that meme is gonna irritate Paul H.
    …… Long story.

  • CT-7567

Jayson has it listed as “E3 Yoda.” I’d guess it’s the same as the 2013 figure, but with a chip inside. I have two 5poa Yoda figures (technically the ESB one is 4poa I think) and that’s certainly enough. Besides, why include a Force ghost of Yoda talking to Luke (which could actually be cool) when they have Maz. She’s older and smarter than Yoda.

  • Zarco Rey

Thanks to Crime Sweeper? Some real life superhero? Pushing a broom for justice?

  • darthmo

    Lol! So true!

  • darthmo

Of course they’ll find a way to bring back Yoda, he’s probably going to be in the reboot ESB Obi-Wan appearing to Luke on Hoth scene with Luke replaced by Rey.
