The Black Series [Star Wars 40] Jawa's Eyes Glow - Did You Know?

Steve Evans, Design Director for Hasbro Star Wars, has revealed on Star Wars Black Series 6″ Collectors Facebook page that the 6″ Jawa’s eyes glow! (Too bad they glow green, Steve! Just kidding!) Cool Easter egg!

UPDATE: JTA reader Zach L. actually pointed out this detail in our Jawa RDR 21 days ago!

sigh, that’s a bit of old news but that’s for sharing Paul.

    • Old news for some, but new news for me.

      • bmales01

        me too

    • The news that Hasbro officially shared this today is news.

      • Danny

there were people out there that knew of this “easter egg” awhile back, that’s what I meant by old news. I guess now we will need to figure out if Mr. Stevie follows through with a running change on these.

        • Yes, that WILL be news. 🙂 (By the way, you could have told me about the glowing eyes and then I could have posted it much earlier too.) JTA is teamwork and we depend on our readers as much as you depend on us! Don’t save it all for Facebook day! 🙂

        • LOL! Dude, I can’t do it all. I can’t keep track of it all!

          • Danny

Well you got me now! Ok, that sounds kinda weird. Never mind….

I love stuff like this. Anything where they go the extrain yard.

    • BB-Mate

Passion in what you do always tend to bring that kind of results. 🙂

    • Sorry, I guess you have to be a member of the group. I will try to get the full message here.

  • bmales01

I did know they glowed as I sleep with my 6 inch jawa…..er I mean.. I did not know that.

  • Darth_Rizzen

    That’s neat. 🙂

I might get some more figures from this 40th line after all. If the stores manage to get rid of the Legion of Leia, that is.

  • OfWolfandMan

Hey, neato. Just tried it, and by golly they do glow. Always loved glow-in-the-dark toys as a kid. And apparently still do. In fact I am typing this in the dark now (in just my underwear. Too much?)
May be old news to some (who like to share how much more they know by being critical) but new to others. Thank you for sharing that.

It wasent done on purpose. It is that eco unfriendly paint they have in china! Lol

  • MrStevie18

I will ask to run change them to yellow Paul. 😉

That’s fun! My Jawa is in transit now but I will be excited to test this out! 🙂

I really like all of the 40th 6″ figures except the Jawa. Yeah, he’s pretty bad.

Almost as bad as when you got your grove on and are dancing with some buff guy thinking “I got this”, but realise… you just don’t have the right parts to close the deal.

Put a black light on TCW Jabba the Hutt’s eyes! Wow do they glow! Lemme know if anyone tries this.

  • Fiery Little One

    Okay, that’s neat.

  • Jaken Wraith

I thought to myself that Jawa Eyes looked like glow-in-the-dark paint, but didn’t really think they were. Neat feature.

  • CJ

I did not know that. Also, I don’t care.

  • darthmadonna

Back nearly 20 years ago they made a jawa figure with these IMO cooler light up eyes with that light port molded in to the head and hood. More accurate too, yellow instead of green and no need to turn the lights off to appreciate your figure. Well I guess the only way yo enjoy the Black Series 6″ line is to turn off the lights. 😛

I don’t have many glow in the dark figures but don’t they all glow green? I’m not sure if they ever mastered the ability to do it in different colors.

Only ones I have left from my childhood are a Glo Friend, the ghost from Playmobil, and the ghost from Lego which all look green in the dark.

I have to admit I had no idea till about nearly three weeks ago, when I turned the light off to the collection rooms, and I looked back as I was about to lock the internal door, and enter the security code on the door, and I noticed my opener (which is not open yet) Jawa sitting there in the end, and I caught the glow in the eyes, cool I thought lol…

Thanks for letting us know though, I may have missed it and it would have been nice if I had not noticed by accident.
